Customer Reviews

It is a thin/lightweight screen, but serves its purpose.

We have used the firepit with and without the grating on top since it just pulls right off, nice feature.

The cover warped almost immediately and the pit also warped .

We bought this fireplace and we LOVE it! Big enough to have a crowd of 10 or more people in lawn chairs sitting around and enjoying it (we had a family picnic and everyone commented on how nice it was). Small enough for storage in our small shed for the winter. Directions on putting it together were a bit confusing (per my husband). Ours also came with an additional piece to allow for outdoor cooking in the fireplace (we haven't used it yet). Ours also came with a cover to put over it when not in use which is perfect for keeping water out of it. Great buy!! We use it frequently! HIGHLY recommend it.

Construction of bottom part good, but top section is flimzy and just doesn't fit well. Overall good, but just a bit overpriced for overall construction.

I've been looking to replace my fire pit for over a year now, but couldn't find something that wasn't just pretty and held a few logs under a small dome. If I want to build a fire, I want it to be able to handle enough wood to make coals for cooking corn after a few hours. This fireplace is perfect for that. Large enough to handle the bigger pieces of wood and a high screened enclosure to protect everyone while it's burning down. The access door is hinged so that you don't have to set it on the grass or patio while it's still hot. You can use the top of the screen for keeping food hot while you cook more. The screen lifts off easily if you want unobstructed view or for easier cleaning. The "poker" is pretty useless, it's too short to get close to the heat, but that tool was a bonus to me anyway.

We just put our fireplace together and it wasn't too difficult. Easier with 2 people. It is not the sturdiest firepit we have seen but it seems fine for the cost and features. All nuts and bolts accounted for (i.e. no shortages).

PROS: ~Screened cover with hinged door
~Tool to open door when hot included and shown in picture
~Vents under welded angle irons on bottom of firebox prevents hot embers from falling thru
~Easy assembly
~Grilling grate included covering one half (see picture)

CONS: ~Screened cover has space along top where sparks could escape, we had to wire ours shut
~Ours came with dents in firebox and a small hole in screen
~Finish seems like it will not last very long and will rust fast
~A bit flimsy
~Only came with one tool not two as described
~Did not come with an ash grate either

All in all it is a decent value. We need to buy a cover which we hope will delay rusting. Will contact company (J&R Music World) regarding missing pieces. Will update review regarding customer service.

Used it for the first time tonight and it was nice. Without the ash grate or some kind of grill to hold wood up however, air flow is not great underneath. We will add something to improve air flow ourselves. Not sure an ash grate would improve flow enough. There are better made patio fireplaces for around the same price but w/o the same features we wanted. It is very handy to have a screen cover with a hinged lid to add wood or poke at fire w/o having to remove the entire cover like most require you to do. Once the embers got hot and there was a good amount, fire was toasty. This is a generously sized fireplace.

As others have stated, the metal on this is pretty thin, and the welds on the cover hinges are very flimsy, it's clearly not that well made and I don't know how long it will last, but I am very happy with it for the time being.

Honestly, it's probably only worth 30 bucks from a discount store, but sadly firepits are very popular right now and unless you spend twice the money you're going to find all of them in this price range are pretty flimsy.

The size of this one however is fantastic and when I've got it going it's pretty close to havinga full size indoor fireplace in my backyard...

Pros:
Big
Fully covered with hinged front screen, cover is removable
Reasonbly priced
Sturdy enough for casual use.

Cons:
Construction is a bit flimsy / poorly made - may not last many years...?
Cooking grate is nice, but only covers 1/3 of firepit
Not very weatherproof

Overall - if you want a big firepit but don't want to spend too much, this one should fit the bill pretty well.

This works good as long as you leave it in one place. If you are going to move it around a lot I would get something more sturdy.
When you pick this up the outer rail flexes.
And if you leave it outside the screen rusts even though it's covered up.
Other than that you can make a good sized fire in this.

Base is very thin gauge sheet metal. Cover is skewed and does not fit base properly.

The product arrived quicker than stated, it assembled pretty easily, and the best part is it does a great job. We have used the firepit with and without the grating on top since it just pulls right off, nice feature. My old firepit the top grating was always attached.
