we used it for our wood stove. yes, it comes with 6 logs but they ask you to use at least 2 logs per fire. yes, it comes with 4 free fire starters, but i had to use 2 for the first fire with 2 logs and used the last 2 for the 2nd fire with 2 logs. the second fire died prematurely. i had to maintain the fire with additional things to burn (used paper towels, cardboard) to keep the fire alive. definitely not repurchasing this product. i now have two half burned logs in the wood stove and 2 brand new logs in the box that will have to supplement the next set of logs we purchase, since i ran out of fire starters.

This box of wood was a good price and with Prime Shipping offered I thought I'd try it out. They arrived quickly and I was eager to use the fireplace and test them out. A white powder is provided (only four packs for six logs) and you are instructed to put inside the hollow logs. Once in the log, it's difficult to light the powder without it falling out. The white powder ignited and never effectively started the fake logs. It was difficult to complete the process and the six logs were a challenge I'll try to avoid whenever possible.

We were so disappointed in these fireplace logs. Directions are to use two logs and one of the starter packs (which fall right through the grates). Fire difficult to get started. We will go back to using Duraflame logs, which provide a great flame, are long-burning, easy to ignite,--and economical compared to the "earth friendly" logs.

The logs are very small compared to the other firelogs I've bought. The are about 11"x3". Never mind how small they are and they ask you go use at least 2 at a time, this stuff just will not light. I've used 2 of the fire starters that ship with the product and 2 heavy duty starters I already had that burn much longer, and still only got a small ember to glow on the logs. I'm actually going to have to throw this stuff in the garbage being it will not burn!Don't waste your money!!!!

I bought these expecting to be a Duraflame subsitute. Boy was I wrong. It's compressed sawdust that takes forever to get going. Several nights that I tried I have to put a real Duraflame in just to get one of these going. Will not purchase again.

This wood just doesn't catch on fire. We tried everything. It was a big pain in the neck and we never got the cozy fire we were hoping for. No fire. Use Java Logs instead if you can find them.

Excellent product, but when I came on line to order more the price went up 10.00 a case...so now I need to look elsewhere. I thought that I finally found the perfect product at the right price, but it was too good to be true. The product is great though...enjoy them if you can afford to use them!

No fire starters in Landmann 82700 Earth Friendly Wood,

Box says "Firewood Plus Four free fire starters," but there were no firestarters in the box. We tried lighting the firewood anyway, but no luck. So we have a box with six logs taking up space in our home.

No, it's not a "that's what she said" joke. Although the dimensions are clearly stated in the product description, I didn't comprehend how small these logs are. It may help to note that the volume of the box is about that of a normal toaster - a bit longer, a bit taller, but not as wide. I can buy Duraflame logs at Costco for less than $3/log. These logs cost $4/log and last about 25% as long as a Duraflame log.

This product is not worth the time put in to start a fire. I've used all the paper I have in the house and the darn things won't stay lit.I'm going to get real wood or some sort of Duraflame instead. |
