First off -
I have been hypothyroid for about 32 years now, possibly longer.
(Using the basis of when I was diagnosed.)
I am more than familiar with TSH testing.

This might be okay if you truly were in some remote area with no doctors or labs
for many, many miles around. That's the only way I could recommend this.

For the cost, you could get a reliable lab test done (sans dr or hospital) from places
like MyMedLab.com for a very similar cost. You don't need a dr visit, no insurance is needed.
It is less expensive, because it is out of pocket. My last TSH test with them (a couple months
ago) cost thirty-seven and change.

I really believe the TSH is something best left to the professionals.
This isn't a pee-on-a-strip test, and you deserve more reliable results.
The thyroid regulates so many other functions in your body - a false reading here
can totally mess up a lot of other bodily functions!

EDIT @ June 2011: For clarification for those who are not familiar with a TSH test,
it is BLOOD WORK, not a urine test. TSH is a hormone and cannot be measured in urine.
Yes, costs for blood work may vary by the area of the country. That is pretty standard
for anything, from groceries to houses to doctors to bloodwork. Just check on it.
Additional information has been added to the item being sold since my original review,
and it now specifies that it takes blood. However, dried blood on a piece of paper
is not going to be as reliable or accurate as regular bloodwork from a reliable lab.
Proceed with caution.
