Comprehensive, but it sure is a tough read. Every page is crowded and jam-packed with good information, but the writing is very scholarly and likely to be a challenge for most under 14. It's good exposure to more advanced writing. If you're homeschooling this is a good supplement, but don't rely on it as your primary history text. It might give history as a topic a bad name with your kids.

I read this to my daughter during 3rd through 5th grade, with other historical books, bios, and historical fiction in between. Much of it we read at bedtime. Sometimes we read a whole chapter, sometimes only half at one time. She rarely complained, learned tons, and loved it, I would say. Of course I was doing the reading, and also there to explain or add comments and answer questions. I would definitely recommend this book.

The book was in great condition and it arrived quickly!! Would recommend this to anyone!! I am a homeschool mom and need these materials... I am glad I went with this book!! Great condition.
