A little gem
This is a great little addition to my ever expanding library of drawing books. It is a small book that is easy to tuck into my shoulder bag and it is packed full of demonstrations and pencil sketches of landscapes. This Bible was a Disappointment
I was disappointed with the Landscape Artist's Drawing Bible. My hopes were too high after seeing the drawing of the barn, I think. I was looking for exact pencil style and landscape sketching techniques. But this book spends too much space on materials, going into information that I think is easy to figure out by walking through an art supply store a few times. The...

I was disappointed with the Landscape Artist's Drawing Bible. My hopes were too high after seeing the drawing of the barn, I think. I was looking for exact pencil style and landscape sketching techniques. But this book spends too much space on materials, going into information that I think is easy to figure out by walking through an art supply store a few times. The format of the book is handy, being a spiral back and small to hold. But, the advice given is not comprehensive as the title suggests, nor does it offer new information.

This is a great little addition to my ever expanding library of drawing books. It is a small book that is easy to tuck into my shoulder bag and it is packed full of demonstrations and pencil sketches of landscapes. If you are looking for quick inspiration in a small package, this book is a gem. I would give it an even higher rating if it were bigger in size and a bit more detailed in instruction. There are demos for pencil, watercolor and pastel. The last chapter is a photo directory with suggestions for drawing. This book will travel with me often!
