2.0 out of 5 stars Pre Thunder Chord and not jammin
Ok, so to me Thunder Chord and House Made of Dawn are the best Coyote Oldman CDs. This one, Landscape, appears to be pre Thunder Chord. However it is a side-journey compared to CO's best works. In this CD is seems they are experimenting with alot of minor chords or multiple flutes that are holding a-harmonic (non-harmonic) notes to one another. While I can appreciate...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Native American Flute Music, January 9, 2008

This review is from: Landscape (Audio CD)
For those who want great Native American flute music, those who are listeners or for those who want to listen for the first time-this is a must-have CD! Coyote Oldman set the standard for traditional, straight up and haunting flute music and this is one of their greatest CDs.

It is great for background music, yoga or meditation as well as just to enjoy the incredible sound of these flutes. I find that when I am wound up, putting this music on begins to relax me immediately.

Another thing I enjoy about this CD is that it is simply flute music played in traditional style-no singing, no modern metal flutes, no other instruments: nothing to impair the pure tone of the Native American flutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly a Landscape, December 4, 2011
This review is from: Landscape (Audio CD)
MGA and Barry Stramp work quite well together as Coyote Oldman. This album is one of my favorites due to the fact of it's simplicity and powerful harmonies. CO take elements from Thunder Chord, In Medicine River, House made of Dawn, which combines into a truly peaceful landscape. The music takes you on a journey of solitude for the soul. This music is worth your time to check out and begin the journey.

While I can appreciate this type of creative 'tension', especially at times when used with twin flutes, it just does not seem like they are able to pull it off in this CD.
