I was a bit disappointed in this book. It tries to be a fundamental book on landscape drawing & painting for pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolor, oil & acrylic and ends up not being very thorough with any. I consider it to be too basic for the accomplished artist and not basic enough for the novice. It does cover basic color theory, some composition options and a look at 5 main compositional elements (sky, weather, shade, water and trees). Unfortunately, I found the book to be quite pricey for the information delivered.

I was looking for some inspiration here. Maybe some new ideas, some new way of teaching or explaining concepts. However, sadly, it didn't happen. I've casually looked through the book and that is probably as far as it will go. If you are considering this book; and you have other instructional painting and drawing books, save your money, because all the information in your other books is in this one.
