From Library Journal
"Natural" landscaping has recently enjoyed a renaissance, becoming a major trend among English and American gardeners. In this informative and attractive book, the Coxes, authors of Flowers for All Seasons ( LJ 2/1/88) and The Perennial Garden ( LJ 9/15/85) present their ideas for creating ornamental gardens inspired by natural landscapes. In addition to describing the basic principles of garden design, they offer plans and suggestions for using natural and manufactured elements in specific situations, showing, for example, how to plant miniature woods. As the authors consider regional variations in climate, soils, etc., this useful book is recommended for gardening collections, which should also have Ken Druse's The Natural Garden (Crown, 1989).
