I like this book mainly for its wealth of illustrations. Also, it covers the spectrum of grasses thoroughly and gives design ideas. As always, Sunset takes into consideration the various micro-habitats you may have within your garden, e. g., dry shade, sunny bogs. A little poetry doesn't hurt either: "Grasses in Masses." As usual, delectable photos and lots of stimuli for the imagination!

The pictures were worth the price of the book alone. I wanted to use ornamental grass because of upkeep and hardiness since I live in Texas and rain this year has been a "VERY" valuable commodity.. The author does an excellent job in illustrating and noting on grasses for certain climates, shade, sun, etc. If ornamental grass is to be part of your landscape plan than this book is worth the money
