First off, Google "bonded leather". It's an eye-opener. VERY misleading on Lane's part. It's not really leather at all. More like "pleather". That lost one star.
Opened the box and there were no instructions to be found. I know it's not rocket surgery, but then again, I don't assemble chairs on a daily basis. Used the wrong screws in the base and had to take them out when it came to installing the arms. Down another half star.
Lastly, this is a big, comfortable chair. I'm sitting in it as I write this. I'm a big guy, and it fits me well. I work from home and at my desk at least 10 hours a day, a bit less on the weekends. But long term, I think I'm going to wish it had more adjustability. I've seen cheaper chairs with a LOT more adjustability. Down another half star.
I've lived with this chair 6 months now. I thought buying a name brand like Lane would serve me well. Sadly, that's not the case. In a couple of 3" spots on the seat, the surface of the "leather" is peeling away. It has the approximate thickness of Saran Wrap. One of the arms is loose (wobbly) and cannot be tightened. Other than that, it remains comfortable. My guess is it might last another year, at most. I'm lowering my original rating from a 3 to a 2. If this is a chair you'll use at home and sit in for a couple of hours a week, it might be ok. For daily, 8 hours+ use, it has failed me.
Easy to Assemble
Good quality chair for a good price (depending on where you buy it)
This my second Lane chair and the first one has held up well.
Amazon Seller Price (Buy elsewhere, probably Sams)
It's been bad enough that when I do the dreaded furniture shopping, Lane would have to have that "something" which REALLY catches my attention and saves me some green.
Two casters broke off within 8 weeks (and I weight 170 lbs), and within the past 3) weeks (after using this piece of chair since late 2009)....3 more have cracked.
Fortunately you can get replacement parts here:
trueinnovations dot com.
Give these people the model number of the chair (under the seat) and they get em shipped the next day.
If this material is actually leather, it must have come from some poor sick cow.
It has cracked, split, some dime size pieces just fell off.
Surprisingly the leather on the arms is still in good condition.
Last...I'll echo the other couple of reviews.......I got mine from staples for $180 + local sales tax.
1) The seating feels uneven and puts too much pressure on the lower thigh area, even when in the lower height positions. The seat also slopes back unnaturally near the back rest, creating additional pressure points where there should be none.
2) The "newly redesigned arms" (according to the box description) pushes the arms further forward on the chair, and up a bit - causing the edges of the wood arm to press against the side of your legs as you sit. VERY uncomfortable over a period of time - it even started to put bruises on my legs from the pressure!
If you go to the Lane web site you see, "Made in America" on their home page, but this particular item according to the documentation is, "Made in China", and the workmanship shows. I don't think they had Big and Tall people in mind when they created this chair at all, and they certainly did not use a big and tall person as a sitting model when designing it - they just very slightly increased a couple of dimensions on this chair compared to a standard sized chair and left it at that. There are other big and tall chairs out there, but this one is definitely not one of the better ones.

Nice looking chair. Note that the front center section is way more padded than anywhere else on the seat of the chair. My legs tend to slip to each side. Read morePublished 10 months ago by Jeff Smith
It is everything you'd expect with the title of "big and tall". The quality of finish looks good, but time will tell. Read morePublished 11 months ago by Z. R. Vitols

I just bought this chair from Sam's club for a fraction of what it's listed for here. Got it unpacked, no instructions were included for assembly. I'm unimpressed.Published 22 months ago by Loak
The chair is beauiful. Nice rich color One problem is the screws that hold the arms in tend to loosen and the arms fall off.Published 24 months ago by Amazon Customer
