If you need a pocket dictionary, and I mean pocket dictionary, this is the one to buy. I tested many by looking for an uncommon word, which unfortunately I can't remember now, and no other pocket dictionary had it. (Even some of the "big/non-pocket dictionaries" didn't have it.) It has many of the usual perks, like the ordinal numbers, regular numbers, etc., but also a large array of conjugated verbs thay comes in handy. Many so-called "pocket dictionaries" are really to big. This one is a little larger than some of the vey small pocket dictionaries, but worth its slightly larger size because of its large selection of words. You'll be able to find practically any word you'll ever need. I often use it in place of my huge bookshelf Spanish/English Oxford dictionary. (I recommend the Oxford dictionary for a bookcase version too. It has a huge selection of words and while one reviewer didn't like the fact that the words are blue with the defintions black, I think it makes it easier to find the wotds and so did my 4 companions.) If you're into Spanish in a big way, Barons Spanish verbs, which has 300 fully conjugated verbs is the perfect companion this pocket dictionary.

The verb conjugation tables here are worth their weight in gold. They give you all the basic patterns and the basic classes of irregular verbs, with the irregular forms shown in bold, a great learning tool. Then all verbs in the dictionary are referenced to a specific pattern. A much better approach then the dumb listing of all forms of a limited number of verbs, as in the over-rated "501 Spanish Verbs". This dict, unlike some pockets, gives important idioms and phrases for most words. Worth every penny, both as a dictionary and a companion to other more structure "learn spanish" books.

The verbs conjugations are listed in the dictionary like any other word. I don't know if all are listed but an effort was made to put them in regular dictionary for us people that are to dumb to know that they are verbs at first glance. This is the only dictionary, I have seen, of its size to do this.

Over 20 years ago I bought a Langenscheidt that traveled with me throughout Latin America. After two decades of use, the binding has held, the cover is not damaged. I have bought other dictionaries since then to help with unusual Spanish words that I come across, but about 1 in 4 times I can find them only in my now well-aged Langenscheidt. This is something that beginners might not notice because they are looking for frequent and common words but once you get involved at a more advanced level it becomes very annoying to not find what you need.

i went to a real bricks and mortor bookstore and was glad i did. this pocket dictionary: 1. is really pocket sized, 2. has a real, sturdy binding, and 3. has pages which are whiter and more easily read than the cheap yellow stock in the others i saw. i figured a dictionary wasn't going to do me any good if i was squinting and unable to read it, or if the pages were falling out. i took the dictionary to a 2 week immersion course in panama and it did the job.

This is a great dictionary. Seldom do I find a word that is not included. Provides examples of how word or expression can be used. Latin American equivalents. A true pocket size dictionary (super small) is not that helpful, however this dictionary (4" x 6") fits easily in big pocket or backpack. Search words in blue and text in black make it easy to search.

This dictionary was recommended to me by a Spanish speaking friend in Uruguay as one of the best choices for a small portable dictionary. He said it had almost every word he could think of and he still finds it useful in reverse.
I like the sturdy cover, easy to read print and great price. I would recommend this.
I had considered an electronic dictionary but they were not recommended by several people who had tried them and found them wanting. It was also pointed out that a Spanish speaker would find the paper dictionary easier to use over an electronic one that they were unfamiliar with, if you needed to have a two way conversation.

This is a nice size and seems to be pretty comprehensive. I am Spanish illiterate, so we will see how it goes on my next trip to Costa Rica. I also bought an electronic translator and a Spanish CD course...I think this book will nicely compliment the other two...
Received quickly and in better condition than described.

This so-called pocket dictionary does not fit any pocket I own. I returned it.
