A Winner,

Very complete. Does an excellent job on grammatic irregularities. Appears to be based on their Russian/German dictionary, which is a good thing, since Russian/German dictionaries tend to be better quality than Russian/English ones (Russia and Germany have been interacting for more than a millenium, after all). Vastly superior to "Collins Russian Gem Dictionary."

For a pocket-sized dictionary this is exactly what you are looking for. I don't even use my full-size russian-english dictionary because this is so convenient and sufficient. Exceeded my expectations!

Exellent for russian speakers, easy to use, not so many different meaning for one word which sometimes confuse me even more. English speakers have to know kirilic to use this book.

We find this dictionary to be helpful and convenient. The small size and durable plastic binding make it the perfect dictionary to carry around for a quick reference. Yet it is large enough to contain most of the Russian words that we run into in everyday life in Kiev. The entries have a lot of helpful grammatical information as well. However, the serious student will also want the not-very-portable Russian-English Dictionary by Kenneth Katzner.

I have been using Langenscheidt dictionaries in a variety of languages for the past half century. This new Russian Pocket Dictionary, as expected, comes up to scratch and is a definite improvement on the dictionary I have been using since 1970 (name withheld!). The only minor quibble I have is with the NEW Blue Headwords. Personally I find black headwords much less tiring to handle. Maybe that's just me.

Bought this used for my granddaughter, who's traveling to Russia this summer. Very impressed with the condition, price and quick delivery in time to mail it to her for Christmas. Excellent service.

I like it very much. It's got the most important Russian words, so I can use it to learn vocabulary. Great !
