This review is from: Langram Road (Audio CD)
Okay. It took more than one listen through to really have it grab me, but it did. I can't stop listening to it now. The first two stand outs are "Flight 121" (a remake that is even better and more heart-felt than the original) and "In a Town this Size" that one can imagine reflects life in a small town like Put-In-Bay. All of the other songs fall nicely into place; "Age Like Wine" is a great, seemingly autobiographical, song with memorable lines like "Too late to die young now" and "Trying my best to age like wine somehow". Then there's the Sinatra-sounding "I Don't Know That Guy" that Pat Dailey easily pulls off with his versatile voice. Speaking of which, "Lullaby Baby Blues", the last track, has arguably the smoothest sounding Dailey voice recorded. Unlike some of Dailey's other releases, this cd can easily be played in the morning while having a cup of coffee as well as in the evening while enjoying a cold beer on the back lawn. All-in-all, this is a must have for anyone's cd collection. We can only hope that whether or not it is Dailey's most definitive record (as he proclaims), it won't be his last.
