Editorial Reviews

Review

"The most persistent criticism of Langston Hughes has been that he was not a thinker, that he had no ideas to speak of ... A collection of this kind is needed to do justice to the often inspired quality of Hughes's weekly journalistic writing and to expand our sense of his interests and ideas. De Santis's is the first book to bring this material within easy reach." -- Arnold Rampersad. --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent rant of unfair treatment, March 2, 2008

(REAL NAME)
The treatment of African Americans, it all its un-fair-ity, is described here. What makes this book and this author superb, is the small things that we take for granted that we think would not offend people, actually do and this author points them out. He YELLS about them and I'm glad that I got to read his raves. Bravo!!
