Found this book at a library, and had to buy it. A very interesting and wide-ranging collection of poetry, folklore, and research collected by a wide range of authors. Many cultures are represented. The poetry is especially excellent. This book can help one evolve their perspective of the natural world and its relationship to our human world...both past and present.

Highly recommend for anyone interested in historical or indigeneous mythologies, shamanism, native cultures, animal spirituality, and more.

language of the birds is the only book of its kind. i take it with me whenever i travel and although i have read it entirely more than a few times, i am always somehow surprised to find something brand new - how to apoligize to a seal is especially fantastic - as well as the man whose moods caused owls.
