5.0 out of 5 stars It really is a treasure, June 11, 2001
This review is from: The Language Of Flowers: A Treasury of Verse and Prose Scented by Penhaligon's (Hardcover)
This little book (it fits in the palm of a hand!) is sure to delight any lover of flowers. It enlightens both the intellect and the atmosphere, as the end-papers are scented with a faint violet potpourri. Lovely reproductions of oil paintings depicting gardens and flowers of all sorts grace every other page, along with a short description of each flower's meaning (roses=love, lilies=purity, etc.) It's the perfect sort of book for tucking into a pocket and browsing at the bus-stop. But beware, the print is tiny!
