Press his hands and he will introduce himself, ask your name, and say the days of the week. Ricky says each sentence first in English and then in Spanish, in a cheery little boy's voice, powered by three AA batteries (included). Ricky is made of soft fabrics, with velour skin, dark brown yarn hair, and embroidered facial features including cute little freckles. He's dressed to play outdoors in khaki pants, blue-and-gold shirt, red velour vest, and matching red athletic shoes. He's carrying his football in one hand. Bonjour, hula, ciao, hello! The Language little soft-bodied 16" dolls represent children from foreign lands and each one speaks either French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese or Chinese. When one hand is pressed, the doll will recite one of a series of 25-30 "kid friendly" phrases (phrases may differ with each doll), first in English, then translated into the doll's native language. When the other hand is pressed, the doll will count, recite colors, numbers, days of the week, and more in both English and the doll's native language. This doll will be your childs favorite doll and the child will be exposed to different language in a fun manner. It will develop your childs language skill along with listening skills. The doll ship complete with 3 AA Batteries and a language translation booklet. Language Littles meet all government safety standards. I purchased Ricky for my 6 year old son. Ricky says the names of several sports in English and Spanish plus other phrases a boy would say. My son says Ricky is his best buddy. We are very pleased! Thanks for a great product! I am now going to purchase Lizzie Speaks Spanish for my 6 year old niece.

Doll speaks clearly and is a cute novelty for children curious about language. We gave this to our granddaughter who knew some Spanish words when she was 2. Now that she is 3 and knows more Spanish, she plays with the doll more and understands the concept that the doll can speak Spanish words, just as she can. It's a cute toy and well made.
