3.0 out of 5 stars Good idea, but needs improvement!
I bought one for my 3 year old last year because I loved the idea of this doll. At first, the doll was great, teaching her simple italian phrases.....until it broke. I guess the chips inside the hands, knee, etc.... died out due to too much static??? That's what the company told me so they had to send me another one. Well the 2nd one died also. Hopefully the company...

Hopefully the company has improved the micro-chip and your child could get good use out of it. If not, I don't think it's worth spending the money for an ordinary doll.

If you want your child to learn some Italian words this toy is for you. The toy will speak in Italian and then repeat it in English. My daughter is 20 months old and she is repeating everything the doll say's. I am in the market to buy other dolls like this one

I bought this for my 2 year old daughter and she loves it! She picked up some of the words already and she knows what they mean. It is a soft rag doll so there is no worry of her getting hurt and she cleans so easily with a damp cloth. I would recommend this doll .

I'm Italian, and I bought this toy for my 2 years old daughter and she likes it! I certainly do too. The Italian accent is accurate and the micro switches are discoverable for her (hands and leg). She picked up some new words for her. And she knows what they mean, now. Sometimes she waits the question and then answer at herself. I would recommend this doll. We live in the USA and I want her to learn my native language.

There's only one thing that the company should do in order to improve this toy. Allow customers to update the words/sentences spoken by the doll - because the educational value can be consumed in less than 2 week of constant use. Kids are like sponges when it comes to learning.

My 5 year old received this for Christmas. She had almost immediately memorized the #s and quickly began to repeat the phrases Sophie says. She doesn't play with this everyday, and when not playing with her, Sophie sits on top of a bookshelf; so we haven't yet had any issues with chips going bad as mentioned by others. Our daughter now wants a Spanish & Chinese version...
