This is a wonderful CD, by a great acoustic guitarist. The compositions are also first rate. The tracks range from solo acoustic guitar to larger arrangements that include cellos, bass, percussion, oboe and English horn. The sound quality, recording and mastering, is incredible. It has to be heard to be believed!
I've followed Rudy's career for many years. He's one of the finest guitarists ever to have come out of the NY area. He was an integral part of the legendary progressive band Cathedral, and also a key member of Industry during the '80s (the fledgling MTV played their video constantly). This CD was produced by Will Ackerman, the founder of Windham Hill Records. It follows closely in that vein of music. It's very "open" and clear sounding, without the clutter and over-production that is so prevalent today. There isn't a bad track on the album. My personal favorite is "Arrows"... but you have eleven to choose from, so... what are you waiting for? Pick your own! Great album! |
