5.0 out of 5 stars Solid As A Rock!!!!!!, November 4, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Unknown Language (Audio CD)
T.O.K. is without question one of the most talented reggae groups in Jamaica. From start to finish, this album, Unknown Language, is "solid as a rock". The songs are all well written and the vocals are of course impeccable. Pound for pound, I think T.O.K. will be the next reggae act to make it big internationally just as Shaggy, the Marleys, etc.
There are certainly no space fillers on this album. My favorite joints from the album are:
*Hey Ladies
*Solid As A Rock (this should have been the album title!)
*She's Hotter (this remixx with Pittbull is blazing!)
*Tell Me If You Still Care (nice laid back song)
*Footprints (maybe the biggest song on the album internationally; the new video is well done too)
*Wah Gwaan (a conscious tune; I really like the sound of the piano in the beat (Ihope every Jamaican takes heed to this one!))
*Survivor (one of my favorite songs on the album; I feel uplifted when I listen to this one)
*Music is Pumping
*Weak (my second favorite song on the set; well written/produced)
*No Way Jose
*High (my favorite track on the album; best weed tune I've heard in a while! I pulled it ap about 20 times!)
*Neck Breakers(this song is so simple it eventually becomes sweet to listen to!)
*Gal You Ah Lead

5.0 out of 5 stars So Refreshing!!!, October 3, 2005
This review is from: Unknown Language (Audio CD)
T.O.K. continues to break new boundaries. Their melodies and lyrics are hard hitting on every level. I recommend this not only to reggae fans, but anyone intereseted in good music. Everyone can relate. That is probably why Footprints is blowing up all over the radio airwaves. I think you can check them out on Myspace as well. Google them! The buzz is true. T.O.K.'s is on point!!!

These guys are the best dancehall group out there today! It has been a while since TOK has put out anything, but this album really shows that it was worth the wait. I picked it up as soon as I heard it was out. They have some great dance tracks on here and their track with pitbull can really get you going. In my opinion, just listen to Footprints and you'll know what I'm talking about.

I got this CD about a week ago and I haven't stopped listening to it since. It is just amazing. They are great at running the extremes on this album, from dance club songs to really emotional tracks. Footprints is one of the greatest songs I have heard in a while. It just takes you to a whole new place while listening to it. This album is worth the buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best Reggae CD's for 2005, September 24, 2005
This review is from: Unknown Language (Audio CD)
This group delivers a multitude of songs that would please everybody from ganstas, culture as well as lovers rock listeners . I bought this CD 3 weeks ago and it has not left my car changer since. I would consider T.O.K. to be the best groups making great reggae music with a unique creative edge. Their combination of singing and chating is unparallel. This CD is money well spent, big up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Time to Know TOK, August 5, 2005
This review is from: Unknown Language (Audio CD)
Fans have been waiting a long time ... Unknown Language was worth the wait. Peppered with hot singles "straight from yard", the album focuses playfully on T.O.K.'s favourite topic ... women. Though primarily a club banging, high energy reggae, dancehall, hip hop, latin, soca hybrid - reflecting their diverse influence - the album still has heart; as evidenced by the lead single, "Footprints (When You Cry)" - a stirring tribute to those affected by senseless violence. Another poignant track is the stark "Wha Gwaan" (that's "What's Going On" for those who don't know the language). Back in the club, "Hey Ladies", "Solid As A Rock" and "Gal Yuh A Lead" rock the "party masses" as only this multi-talented quartet can. Learn the lingo ... get a copy of "Unknown Language".

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't believe I didn't get sooner, March 22, 2006
By
This review is from: Unknown Language (Audio CD)
I really wish I found this album sooner. Borrowed from a friend then I had to get my own copy. Great beats! Talented reggae group, one of the best albums I have heard this year. No fillers in the album. "She's Hotter" and "Footprints" are some tight tracks. This has become a party favorite, requested all the time!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Dancehall album of the year, March 14, 2006
By
This review is from: Unknown Language (Audio CD)
This group is amazing. This is the best dancehall album out there, maybe with the exception of Dutty Rock. These guys flow with the best, and add catchy, modern Jamaica lyrics and CRAZY beats, and you have a 5-star endeavor. Regardless of where she is what she's doing, my wife can't help but shake it. More T.O.K!
