This teacher's book accompanies two pupil's books designed for classroom use as reference source as well as a basis for discussion, learning and understanding and covering the main points from the National Curriculum at all levels. Arranged alphabetically, they offer explanations of language concepts. Professor David Crystal has worked with cartoonist Edward McLachlan with the aim of making the entries both informative and fun. The teacher's guide contains all the entries from the two pupil's books with extra information about each entry as well as guidance about the linguistic problems a teacher is likely to encounter in teaching these concepts. The Key Stage 3 pupil's book contains the basic terms for language structure and use as well as for grammar, while the Key Stage 4 book comprises more advanced terms, based on National Curriculum demands.
