5.0 out of 5 stars The bomb for breastfeeding moms
Despite the assurances of lactation consultants that breastfeeding shouldn't be painful if done correctly, it's excruciating for most women at first - especially if your skin is prone to drying or bruising. Getting through the initial frustration is tough, but this product can make a HUGE difference. It may seem a bit pricey but you use a tiny amount and I'd have paid...

1.0 out of 5 stars Yuck
I hated this stuff. It was thick & sticky. I couldn't stand the feel of it. I used "sweet oil". That's what I was given in the hospital. The nurse told me it is just olive oil. It was very smooth and felt much better than the Lansinoh, and the small bottle they gave me in the hospital lasted 3 months.

It may seem a bit pricey but you use a tiny amount and I'd have paid far more for the relief it provides.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't have breastfed without it!, July 14, 2005
This cream was a lifesaver for me. A friend of mine recommended it while I was still pregnant, so I bought some before my son was born and took it with me to the hospital. This cream was what got me through the first 2 weeks (the most crucial time) of breastfeeding. My nipples were so sore, but this cream really helped and I didn't have to worry about washing it off before my son nursed. The more I used it the better I felt, it is a MUST for new moms who are planning on nursing.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Essential for a breastfeeding mother!, July 22, 2004
This review is from: Lansinoh Breast Cream, 2-Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
I really can't say just how handy Lansinoh comes in when you're nursing a newborn, especially in the first six weeks when you're getting the hang of it. Sore nipples, cracked nipples, even chapped skin on your face and diaper rash are all soothed with a few applications. And as the others have noted, a tube lasts forever despite the fact that you end up using it for so many things.

I've used this product since my first baby was born nearly 7 years ago and it is one of those things that every nursing mother needs!

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST for breastfeeding moms, February 25, 2008

(REAL NAME)
I think that this is the best and most helpful product for nursing moms. Nursing moms don't really need much to nurse. It's just them and baby. If you decide to forgo other nursing luxuries like nursing pillows and covers, stools, rockers, fancy nursing bras, etc., don't go without this lanolin. This is what has seen me through. This is what kept me nursing in those rough days in the beginning. I have used this with three of my children. I wish I had it for my first, but I had not discovered it yet. It may have kept me going a little longer. This is an absolute necessity for nursing moms. One tube will last you through weaning. A very little bit of this goes a long way. It is safe to latch baby on after an application, too. I cannot endorse this product enough. I also use this for everything. If one of the kids or I have a cut or scrape I apply this and it heals so quickly. I also use this for chapped lips in the winter and I can tell you there is nothing else like it. This is my #1 product that I could not do without as far as breastfeeding items go. HIGHLY recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breast Saver, April 12, 2005

This review is from: Lansinoh Breast Cream, 2-Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
When I begun breast feeding with my first baby, my nipples were sore and chapped. After using this just once it felt 100% better. Other brands are not edible, so you have to wipe off the ointment! Which really does not feel good on a already sore and chapped nipple. I am having my second child and this is a must have for me!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't live without it!, February 14, 2006
This review is from: Lansinoh Breast Cream, 2-Ounce Bottle (Health and Beauty)
I have used this stuff for 15+ years. It is great for nursing, baby bottoms, chapped skin, eczema, chapped lips, you name it, it will work. Any skin irritation I have encountered with my three+ children I have used this and love it. I will be using it for my fourth child as well due in May and have to say, I won't have to buy it with the the newborn diapers because it is always in my house without fail.

I love this product! i can't even begin to describe how much it has helped not only me but my daughter as well. This creme soothed my dry cracked nipples. My daughter loves to suck on her fist and since cold weather has come her face gets so chapped from being wet from spit. I spread this on her and it helps so much. It is the best thing to happen to mommies everywhere.

I used this while breastfeeding my son...and while I only had one issue of chapping, it was a lifesaver. I loved it then and have used it on several other things since..great on chapped hands, lips etc. But I don't know what I would have done without this wonder creme. And it's an essential baby gift that I tend to give at showers!!

I am preparing for baby number seven and this always makes the list of necessities. One may be tempted to look for a lower-priced cream, but a little goes a long way and this is by far the best. It's also great for chapped lips and diaper rash!
