LEAKY BAGS,
This review is from: Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bags - 25 ct (Health and Beauty)
As far as bags go, this is a good bag as far as a double seal, how they only take up a minimal ammount of storage (after having frozen the contents in a flatten out manner an storing upright afterward), and being easy enuf to manipulate milk into a bottle.
HOWEVER!!!, after pumping religeously every three hours for three months to build up a hearty milk supply (which resulted in a huge stash of milk in two freezers), it breaks my heart that 25% of the milk I thaw winds up being wasted thru a ruptured bag. The breaks in the bag happen along the bottom creases and the lower corners at the side seams. So (having hundreds of bags of milk to go thru) I now thaw my bags after I've placed each individual bag into an opened sandwich baggie before placing into a container of cold water in the fridge. I re-use the sandwich bags until they are no longer re-useable. It's the best "prevention" I can think of in an attempt to save what I'd put so much effort into. I have stored my frozen milk sitting upright (after freezing flattened)in cardboard boxes & extra refridgerator bins/drawers(like a file) and ziplock freezer bags and none of these methods seems to matter as far as ending up with ruptured bags. It must simply be a defect in design/material. You definitely want to minimize moving the bags around and knocking things into them. SO be sure to store in a place where you won't be stacking other frozen food items that might wind up hitting the bags, and be sure to place bags in manner that will decrease the amount of manipulation after they are frozen (placing newest collections to the back). Altho expensive, I have purchased several sets of the Mother's Milk Mate (polypro) storage bottles. This type of bottle/material is highly recommended in the resources I've read concerning milk storage. Amamzon sells these very bottles which I have reviewed twice. If you can afford the bottles, buy them. These bags have an up side to using them, as the milk bags are great if you are sending milk to Grandma's or the sitter's and ya don't want to come up missing the more expensive bottles.

I'm not sure if the other reviewers, who favorable reviewed these bags froze their milk, they didn't say....
If you are planning on freezing your milk for extended periods of time, I do not recommend these bags. I froze over 150 bags of milk and at least 50% of them leaked when I thawed them out months later. I did not overfill or do anything to these bags that would have caused them to leak. It is so discouraging to thaw milk and have it seep out the bottom/side of the bag.

Best breastmilk bags around,
This review is from: Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bags, 75 ct (Health and Beauty)
These are hands down the best breast milk bags. I have solely breastfed 3 of my children (currently nursing a fourth) and have pumped at work with 3 of them. These breastmilk bags make it a little easier. They are thicker and more durable than the Gerber bags and I like the double closure that has always worked for me. The Gerber bags seem flimsy and are harder to pour from and seal on the first pass. It is easier for me to get the air bubbles out of the Lansinoh bags. As labor intensive as it can be to pump milk for a hungry baby I need the reliable bags to make sure the "liquid gold" isn't compromised!

They may be the best bags on the market, but they're still not good enough.,
This review is from: Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bags - 25 ct (Health and Beauty)
I chose these bags partly because of the reviews that I read on this website and because they made economic sense. I gave birth to a premature infant who was unable to breastfeed. I have pumped everyday btwn 6-8 times a day since she was born and was blessed to have an ample milk supply. However, when thawing these bags out I found that I was losing sometimes 4 and 5 bags of at a time due to leakage not from the double seal at the top, but from a seam at the bottom (and no I did not fill them over the 6 oz mark). I later tried some of the other bags out there and found that yes, these bags are better than their competitors, but they were not good enough for me. I have worked way too hard to provide my child with nourishment only to have it leak all over the place. My solution was to use bottles. They too have disadvantages (take up more room in the freezer), but I feel that they are a better choice.

they don't really stand up,

These bags are a good price and hold a lot plus they lay flat. However I have twice lost a whole bag of milk when I was pouring milk into them. They are advertised as able to stand up but they don't really. They have fallen over and spilled milk everywhere. Just keep it in mind when you are filling them.

Awful!,
This review is from: Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bags - 25 ct (Health and Beauty)
These bags are awful and all LEAK! This is the first review I have ever written for any product. I have NEVER been more disappointed especially when since they are for breast milk. My son is a 30 week preemie and I'm trying to give him all the breast milk I can but have lost so much because of these bags. They should be DISCONTINUED IMMEDIATELY!

Bags Leak,

Like others haev said, these bags leak! Medela have never leaked on me, and no I don't overfill them. It seems like they leak after being frozen. Fresh milk (never frozen) in a bag hasn't leaked on me yet. I defrost now in a cup, seems like 1 of 3 spring a leak. Major design flaw!!

Please don't buy these bags,
This review is from: Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bags - 25 ct (Health and Beauty)
I am so upset that I didn't research milk bags before I bought these. Seriously, I have to research everything, including the plastic bag that I pour expressed breastmilk into - that is crazy. Anyway, these bags LEAK!!!! What is the point of a milk storage bag, if it is going to leak from the bottom seam. It is not like the manufacturer warns you about this potential, but they probably should considering that reviews discussing bags leaking from the bottom seam go back several years. Breastmilk is precious and it is extremely disheartening when you realize that you have to throw milk away because of a leaking milk storage bag. Do NOT buy these bags!!!

great bags,

I have not had any leak problems that many others seem to note. I lay the bags flat until frogen and then I carefully move them to a shoebox in an upright position (like file cards) which saves space and the shoebox protects them so that no other items in the freezer comes into contact with the bags. The warning on the bags remind you that they can be brittle while in their frozen state. The shoebox does the trick and I have had no leaking. I think if you are careful these bags work great.

Leaks Everywhere,
This review is from: Lansinoh Breastmilk Storage Bags (Health and Beauty)
I'd say about 1/3 of my bags leak. I've lost so much bmilk thawing out the baggies...enough to make any mom cry after all that hard work. I loved the bags going in b/c of the double ziplock on the top. I couldn't be more disappointed with this product now and will never use it again. It doesn't matter if we froze them flat, froze them "fat", froze in clumps with other bags, or froze them individually. Leaks, leaks, leaks. it doesn't matter if I thaw slowly in warm water, in hot water, at room temperature, or thaw in the fridge at its own pace. Leaks, leaks, leaks. So very disappointing, especially after investing in a deep freezer to hold everything.
