Hi I went from having to fosgate p312s with a 1000 watt TMA amp. Untill they blew up on me and I came accross these I have 2 of them in separete boxes about .6 cu ft each with a ma audio 700 watt amp pushing 350 watts rms to each. As the title says this is just a initial review upon receipt. I Purchased this and a Lanzar HTG257 from Vm Inovations and I was not really pleased with the way it was shipped just in its original packaging.

4.0 out of 5 stars Won't Disappoint, March 10, 2011

I've known of Lanzar for years and always thought of them as one of those sleeper brands. While everyone buys kicker and fosgate, I'll save money and get better sound by buying Lanzar. I bought these subs to replace a pair of Kenwoods. I wanted a sub that hit lower and could handle my amps full load. Amp is a Hifonics HFI1000.1D wired down to 2ohms approx 750watts, but gains only at 65%. Speakers handle it just fine and blows those Kenwoods away. The lows shake and the higher bass hits. Owners manual doesn't specify RMS powr handling, but in most cases it's 40-50% of the max. Definitely worth every penny, and won't disappoint!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Subs For the Money!!!, November 10, 2010

What can I say, these slam hard! Make sure that you have the proper enclosure - air space is the key. Wrong air space = crappy sound = eventual death and destruction for your subs. 99% of people who blow these subs have them in the wrong enclosures. Just because it fits doesn't mean it will sound good or last a long time, even if you only have it on a 300watt amp.
Hope this is helpful!
Laterz!!!

ok first off amazon.com never seizes to amaze me with their shipping ,fast and i have yet to receive anything damaged!... ok i own a garage were we also do stereo installs from mild to wild as it has always been a passion of mine . this subwoofer was bought solely for a piece of test equip , mainly enclosures. i just hooked it up to my concept cca-d 1200.1 at 4 ohms on my bench free air ... i expected alot of popping and honestly the thing to go up in smoke, when i first received it i pulled it out of the carton and was not impressed very chinsy looking from the foam surround to cheap plastic terminals and mostly the rubber magnet boot wich serves no purpose and looks terrible( i removed it). but as i listened to it i realized it wasnt half bad and would serve its purpose very well and 28$ come on! . it had decent xmax, vc looked alright and after feeding it some clean power for a bit it wasnt warm nor did it smell at all . i certainly would not recomend feeding this little guy 1200 watts as i beleive it would blow the cone and surround to kingdom come. but as i said for 28 dollars it makes an excellent beginners sub or even somone who has a super tight budget. give the little fella maybe 400 clean watts give or take and i think you will be happy ,if you do not have rediculous expectations.its no fi btl or re but you would have to be insane to compair apples to oronges

Just to give a little background, I have this sub (1) hooked up to a Sony xm-2200gtx amp in a ported box. That being said, my goal was to have a decent sounding setup for under $100 ( I go the amp on Craig's List for 50 bucks). Since neither the sony amp or Lanzar (as far as I know) are CEA compliant, I'm doubtful that it's a "true" 1200w system, but so far I'm very pleased with the results. I'm big on sound quality and prefer good sounding systems to just loud. I think I'll eventually get a sealed box to that end, but aside from that I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I haven't really took time to dial it in, and with the sub voluume set to +1 on my headunit(JVC AVX-44), it still hits decently. That's compared to the the 2 MTX Roadrunner 10's I used to have and being in my friend's car who has two L7 10's. I hope this helps anybody considering going with these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Max 10 pro subs, May 2, 2011

This review is from: Lanzar MAXP104D Max Pro 10-Inch 1200 Watt Small Enclosure Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer (Electronics)
I made my own custom box for these subs to go in my mustang and all i can say is WOW! This is the most powerful system i have had to date. I have the subs wired in parallel and hooked up to a 1600 watt audiobahn amp. Before this setup i had a 1200 watt sony xplod amp with two audiobahn 12's and this new setup with the Lanzar 10's completely destroys my old one.

As the title says this is just a initial review upon receipt. I Purchased this and a Lanzar HTG257 from Vm Inovations and I was not really pleased with the way it was shipped just in its original packaging.

As for the sub itself it has a good weight from it due to the magnets but beside that the build quality feels very cheap. The cone and foam surrounds are okay for a budget speaker but the rubber shroud or cap that covers the magnet and terminal could be much better. The shroud although thick isn't a snug fit and feels loose but the real downer are the terminals they feel so cheap like they would break if to much pressure is applied. I am still holding out final judgment until i place it in a box and break it in. The price is very reasonable and if it performs I guess my score will be swayed to match. By the way the speaker comes with box specs on a small leaflet for sealed and ported enclosures. Sealed was a min of 0.33cuft and a max of 0.75cuft

After hooking these up i gotta leave a review, i have two of these in a sealed box , seprate chamber .75 cub.ft box and man was i shocked by how hard these hit, and the sound quality is not bad either, have them hooked to a 760 watt pioneer 195w rms@ 2ohms x 2 i was using a pair of rockford fosgate punch before these and these hit a lot harder for less money. I am not saying these are the best subs in the world but for the price these are excelent.....
