First off this amp is great no matter what other people say. I have said this to other people you have to be Very Aware What Ohms Your Pulling With Your Speakers. because connecting the wrong ohms or different ohms to your amp or speakers call kill them or damage them. so yeah if you hook up 2 12" subs to this amp with the wrong ohms thats two counts of the wrong frequency witch will stress the amp worse because the feedback. Im personally pushing a 3000 watt 4ohm DVC 10" Pioneer 800 RMS with this amp and its Phenomenal. really moves the sub great it sounds great and for the price it is it makes it even better. My buddy is using the lanzar Max witch is damn near identical to the Viberant as far as specifications go. He is pushing two 3500 watt 4ohm DVC 12" Pioneer 1000 RMS with the same spec. amp and it is wired up properly and his does Phenomenal as well. so you cant say this amp sucks or lies or false advertises because it comes with an owner manual saying exactly what it does. Little tip google rockford fosgate wire wizzard that will show you how to properly wire up many speaker configurations and i do keep in mind everyone is entitled to their opinion. Summary: love the amp it does great sounds great looks great would buy again or recommend to others.

The advertised 1000WRMS (4ohm) power is actually a marketing gimmick.
The amp is rated 1000WRMS @ 14.8VDC but only 300WRMS @12VDC (This is the value the rest of the mobile audio market uses). So, if you are buying this to power some 1000WRMS subs, you are only going to get about 300W of continuous power, wasting your money. If you don't believe me, look at the items manual(pdf).

I have owned this amp for about 5 years and it rocks, put a custom plastic cover with fans on it to show off the insides, looks extremely sweet. This amp is HUGE and cranks a lot of heat if you are using lower impedance. However, if you are buying this amp for high power drivers, you will be sadly disappointed comparing it to other amps in the same class.

Great value for the price hence the 3 stars; false advertising: -2 star.

I'm using this amp for my HOME SUB!!!! I have a Cerwin-Vega 15" sub and the internal amp is fried. I hooked this amp to it with an old computer power supply (not alot of 12V power) and this amp shakes the walls. I have many more options for "tuning" my bass, plus I have the Bass-Boost mounted under my coffee table and can adjust it from my couch. This thing has much more power than 200 Watt amp built into the sub. I don't think this thing has 4000 Watts into a 4ohm load (my sub is 8ohm), but I would be willing to bet this thing is pumping 400 Watts into an 8 ohm load which is about 800 Watts into a 4 ohm load. BUY THIS AMP, you won't regret it for the price.

I DONT CARE WHAT YOU PEOPLE SAY BUT I HAVE THIS AMP HOOKED UP TO (2) 15 IN AMERICAN BASS AT 4 OHMS 1000 WATT RMS AND THEY RATTLE EVERYTHING ON MY VAN WITH IT NOT BRIDGED, BOUGT TO ORDER ANOTHER ONE SO I CAN HAVE 1 ON EACH 15 BRIDGE THOUGH, ILL KEEP YOU GUYS UPDATED ABOUT MY STUFF

okay. my first amp was given to me like a "hey im buying a new amp and this one i dont want. would you like it?" that one lasted about a year and a half after i recieved it so i bought a brand new one. AWESOME amp. i know people are all like this amp is over rated and only produces about 300 watts of power but thats for the 12v. i have a brand new high output alternator and a yellow top battery in my car. this amp HITS HARD.

It bumped pretty good for the 3 months it worked, but usually went into protect briefly after about 45-60 minutes. I was pushing a pair of lanzar 10's @2ohms from overstock.com in a custom bandpass box. I set gain with a DMM.

My amp blew a fuse yesterday, I thought 'no big deal, easy fix.' The amp does not power up at all, no power light, no anything. Voltage good at fuses & remote switch; wtf!? Internal power supply transistor, or something... I don't know.

I was disappointed when I first got it, too. The box clearly claims 2x1650 @2ohm or 2x1000 @4ohm, BUT THIS IS AN OUTRIGHT LIE. The manual shows the rms ratings for vibe286 are actually 2x450 @2ohm and 2x300 @4ohm.

Complete waste of money, I strongly discourage buying this. There are much better amps available for <$200.

I was considering buying this Amplifier, but, first and foremost. This Amplifier is screaming 4000 Watts all over it, the first review says, "I used a computer power supply to power this thing." 4000 Watts, from a computer power supply. What? Do you have a spare power supply from an IBM Mainframe/Supercomputer lying around? Does anyone besides me know how much 4000 watts is? Your average computer power supply is 300W. Your HIGH-HIGH end ones, are 1500 watts. 4000 Watts is 35 amps on 120V, so you'd fry your wall socket too. And this device operates at 12V, so it'd be well over 350 amps. Well. It blew 2 so, that just leads me to believe that it leaks DC current on the speaker side of the circuit, which is supposed to be AC, that, or the subwoofers had low RMS handling. the truth of the matter is, this thing puts out 2x300 watts RMS.

i had this amp hooked up to 2 12inch max pros and it sounds great for a month or so but i fried this amp twice so if ur looking for short term then go for it but otherwise dont waste your time

Do not use on a pair of 12" 1000w dual 4 ohm woofers briged. You will have to replace them . They will fri. The look and price was great.The sound was great until it melted my woofer.
So now I will try the amp. on a pair of 15" 2000w dual 4 ohm woofer.
Yes I would Buy another Vibe286.
