3 Minute Porno,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lap Dance (Kindle Edition)
I have read erotic novels before and this is nothing like them. It starts off with a girl who has to do a lap dance as a challenge to win a car. She starts of timid but then gets into it when she starts getting turned on by the stranger that she is lap dancing. Before she finishes she stops and goes home. In the middle of the night she is awaken by the guy, who turns out to be a gargoyle. Apparently he is under a curse and is only human for 1 night every 20 years. This book is like a 3 minute video that you can get on any porn site... and not even a good video at that.

Free kindle download, and I read it from start to finish, so it gets an automatic three stars for that (there are plenty out there that are unreadable!) but it's also completely forgettable. It starts with Cat doing an erotic lap dance in public to win some competition (they never really go into details of the competition) which will win her a car which she plans to sell and use the cash for her education (making her the quintessential good girl doing a 'bad' thing for a good reason) , but the guy Grant Evanstone, has a different agenda... As her friend cheerfully choreographs (they have to made a video? Don't they know videos never die...) Grant and Cat start making their own magic...

Something uh?? and sex,
By

This review is from: Lap Dance (Kindle Edition)
In this short short uh story(?)a woman is supposedly trying to win a contest and use her winnings eventually for school. While dancing she is 'turned on' by the handsome man who is entranced by her but for reasons of his own. A sexual fairy tale with a gargoyle who wants to be freed from a curse. Okay. No background about the contest, the girl or the gargoyle and his curse. Great sex under less than pleasant circumstances, 'Love is a many splendid thing', I guess. It's more like a warped beauty and the beast gone wrong. This short story could be remnants of several of the writer's dreams. You could call it quirky if it had a real beginning but it starts in the middle and ends. It held my interest when it read it, hoping that more would be explained but that didn't happen. Lap Dance is too short in length and many other aspects of a good short story in this or any other genre.
Worth the price as is and the 5 minutes it takes to read it. It was free and readable. I think the writer can do better and I hope she does.

Ehh I Sort of Zoned Out,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lap Dance (Kindle Edition)
The whole premise of this story was pretty far fetched to begin with and the author just couldn't seem to get it together. The story felt disjointed and I honestly zoned out for several pages. Not to mention the whole paranormal aspect came out of left field for me, this could have been of course because I zoned out, but still it didn't fit for me. The writing was weak and the character development and story was pretty much non-existent, I get this is a short story but a decent writer can still create a complete story that flows in a limited amount of pages, and this author wrote a longer story than most naught nooners! Definitely not a story that left any sort of memorable impression, but it is free so read at your own risk.

Too short but promising,

Admittedly this was a freebie so I shouldn't have expected anything too fantastic...This short story presented a mixture of paranormal and eroticism but could really have been an interesting full length story, there were enough paths and the characters were clearly defined enough to take them through.
As a very quick read it was ok, but as another reviewer mentioned if this had been the end of a longer story it would have been much better and made more sense.

Not a bad read for free, it's a short story it's basically sex with a short story line. Grant and Cat had very good chemistry together. And I really like the storyline as well.

It's a Twist,
This review is from: Lap Dance (Kindle Edition)
I was surprised with the paranormal twist, not many books feature gargoyles; but that may be the only thing working for this book. It was a quick read, and I was glad that it was free, for it would have been a waste of money otherwise. The author Sally Painter shows promise however, and I have a feeling she will prove herself to be a capable author in future works. As for right now, save your time.

I actually loved the sorta strange twist mentioned by another reviewer. I wasn't expecting paranormal so it sneaked up on me. Definitely a hot read and got me interested in reading more Sally Painter!

Ok I bought this because it was free and thought a cute short story - half way through it does this weird twist and I started laughing. Not streamy but stupid - skip it.

Nice Sensual Style,
This review is from: Lap Dance (Kindle Edition)
It's difficult to write a satisfying story in such a short format. But this book gives you a taste of the author's sensual style. I'll look for more books by Sally Painter.
