fatal flaw -- poor adhesive,

great idea, poor execution.
the anti-skid patches only contact the surface of the desk when the legs are closed. the fatal flaw, however, is the adhesive used to attach the legs to the laptop itself. remember: these legs are touted as the solution to the computer getting too hot, solving the problem by letting more air circulate under the machine. great idea! now check out how you're supposed to remove the legs if you decide to take them off: first heat them up with a hair dryer, then peel them off. here's an interesting point: a laptop that gets too hot will produce just as much heat as a hair dryer, ergo the fatal flaw. when the computer gets hot, the adhesive softens up and lets go, and the laptop slides off the legs. even if the legs are not extended, the computer will slide off the legs, leaving it uneven and unstable. maybe i can find some other kind of adhesive to use, one that won't be totally undermined by the very heat it's supposed to alleviate. if i can find something that works, i'll change this rating to a 5.

Great for large laptops, but before you buy...,

Consider buying it elsewhere.
The legs are perfect for large laptops. My own is a 17" widescreen. And although there are three vents on its underside, making placement asymmetrical, it is not so much so as to affect the stability of the laptop resting on a surface. There is a definite improvement in airflow and typing elevation (Two different elevations). Good airflow keeps your processor and hard drive cool, improving the life of the machine. (...)

What a relief! Great for laptops and desktop keyboards, too.,
This review is from: LapWorks Laptop Legs (Personal Computers)
I've been using my Laptop Legs for several weeks now and don't know how I got along without them. It's much more comfortable typing on a laptop when you can angle the keyboard up a little.
If you own a desktop Macintosh, you've probably tried jamming something under the keyboard to tilt it a little higher. I know I have. With the Laptop Legs you get two pairs in each package, so I use one on my iBook and another on my Apple keyboard. Finally, I can adjust my keyboard more than the meager 1/4" I get with the built-in height adjustment.
