Part received on time. The hardest part of the process was desoldering the old part without doing any irreparable damage. It took some time, wicking the old solder out as much as possible. Replacing this part is not for a soldering novice.
Once the new piece was in place, laptop reassembly completed, I was very pleased to see it power up! Satisfied customer.

My old connector was becoming useless, the cord kept slipping out at the slightest hint of movement. Got this one fairly quickly and it was exactly the same piece as the one on my Dell 9300 with the Foxconn embedded/ etched logo. Replaced and now the cord is held in place with all the movement that my laptop gets. I would recommend it. I just wished I ordered more than one to justify shipping since the shipping is more than the price of the item itself.

Got the power receptacle on time and was the correct replacement for my old dell computer. My receptacle was worn out. Works great. Have to have solder tools and a knack for soldering and unsoldering electronic parts from a laptop motherboard.

I am a technician so I do know what I am doing. The description said it would fit in the Precision M6400. Now that I have the laptop completely apart, it does not line up properly. Upon further research it appears like that jack will fit in the M6300 and the Inspiron 6400 NOT the Precision M6400. Here is a link so that you can see the difference. [...]. The pins are in slightly different positions and the little plastic nubs are in completely different locations. You cannot bend them into position without the housing coming off and the nubs do not fit into the holes on the motherboard. You have to go by their description because you cannot see how it goes on the board until you remove everything and then try and line it up. They must be getting bad information from Foxconn because there are other on ebay also saying that it will fit the Precision M6400.

This is the correct part for a Dell Inspiron 1520. Getting the old connector unsoldered was quite an adventure. I'm sure that commercial repair shops have an iron that can heat all the connections simultaneously. Using a single tip, even with solder sucker and braid, was a very tedious process. I managed not to damage the board, didn't lose the small sleeve on one of the leads and got it all back together and working.

Very satisfying and working perfectly months later. If you haven't done much soldering send it to a repair service.

While trouble-shooting a Dell Latitude D510, some arcing from light pressure to the motherboard was observered near the side of the power jack. With the slightest pressure, FL2, the side nearest the power jack separated from the motherboard. FL2 is a surface mount inductor filter pair near the power jack about 1/4 the length and width of the power jack. Strongly suggest checking FL2 solder joints before ordering a power jack.

It works, and fixed my laptop. My mom fixed it and said it was easier than she thought it would be
