Quality not worth the price,

This review is from: Laptop Lunch System Bento Box - Primary (Office Product)
I feel this product is overly priced at $42. The box itself is made of low quality plastic, I'm sure it will not last very long. It is hard to close the box and extremely hard to open, especially for a child. I don't know why they didn't include lids for all of the compartments, it is odd that only one compartment has a lid. I do not recommend this product.

Works great for sending lunch to day care for my toddler. Room for different foods. Easy to wash. Just wish one more of the containers had a lid (a large container and a tiny dip container have lids)

over priced and stupid,
This review is from: Laptop Lunch System Bento Box - Primary (Office Product)
The website for laptop lunches only offers positive testimonials; since I think the thing is stupid I had to enter my review here! The kids in my son's school, including my son, who have this lunch box, have to walk carefully into school holding the thing parallel to the ground because of the stupid design of having lids for only one compartment. Not only does that limit what you can put in (only one wettish thing) anything with crumbs or small loose pieces (nuts, dried fruit, lettuce, etc etc) spill around if the thing is tipped. It is a joke to see these 10 yr old boys walking carefully into school, with their moms having to carry their other school stuff because their hands are being used to steady their lunch box!! I used to pack him warm and cold things: guess what, nothing stays warm or cold in this. So, its one or the other, and whatever it is will cool or warm toward room temp. I never used 'waste' anyway, there are lots of options for 'waste free' lunches that are more usable and flexible. It is outrageously priced at close to 50 dollars: my son had to use his allowance because I refused to spend that sort of money on a lunch box. I should have just told him he couldn't have it as his lunches have become less nutritious due to the limited space, lack of covers, lack of ability to separate warm and cool items. I hate the thing and am outraged by the absurd marketing of it as healthy and green.

not economical or ecological,

I purchased 2 systems for my children last year. After 1 school year of use the lining of the cases had torn at the corners and the cases started to smell do to liquids/food enter the insulated case through the cracks. I had to soak the cases in bleach and tape the cracks to try and get a little more use out of them. When I contacted the company they said most people need to buy a new case every year. I think that is ridiculous based on the amount of money they charge, and what is "green" about filling up landfills with insulated cases that only last 1 year? I'm regretting this purchase.

I bought this for my husband to take to work and he loves it because you have very healthy portion sizes for each compartment, I like the large compartment with the lid so i can put pasta salad or anything that might spill in and the tiny little container with the lid is great for salad dressings or dip for veggies. I bought one for myself and my kids, my kids ones come with fun insulated totes they have pictures of Aliens all over it, they love them, thoes ones come with 2 larger covered compartments as well as the tiny one. I recommend this for anyone who wants to pack healthy portioned lunches for your self or your family.

Perfect size for toddler,

I have had my laptop lunch box now for over 2 years. My son uses it everyday for school. It's easy to wash and the perfect size for little ones. The carrying case makes it easy for him to sling it over his shoulder and walk to lunch. There were only 2 little kids in his Kindergarten class bringing his lunch and his food was always in good condition! All the other kids envied him because he got 'good food'. I like that I don't have to waste a lot of ziploc bags. The fork and spoon that comes with it broke the first week and I had to toss the water bottle and replaced with a kanteen that he carries along. The plastic bottle would leak everywhere. The top of the lunch box warps easy and is often difficult for a young child to open. I give it four stars because it takes a beating and it is still in fantastic shape and the perfect size for a child, but I really wish it had more than one lid for the containers on the inside. I also think that the utensils should last longer as well as a working water bottle at such a high price point. All in all it is the longest lasting lunch box I have seen being used by an active little boy. I also wish it would come in green. I have written them so many times but I guess they don't want to make it in green.

We really do utilize our laptop lunch system for my toddler's snacks. I love the set, and also get questions from other parents about it all the time-it allows me to pack healthier foods and also avoid extra and disposable packaging. Our first use of it was on a 5 hour plane ride, after which my daughter immediately recognized the set as especially for her-she gets excited whenever she spots it. Playdates, long car trips, vacations-I use it all the time. Nice capacity and a small size. Yes it is on the expensive side, but worth it to me for the BPA free and reusability of the product.

We love love love this product. The cups are the perfect sizes for my two boys. Both my boys (3 and 7) love to pick out things to put into their lunches now. Since we purchased these the lunch boxes come home nearly empty too! The fork and spoon are perfect and very durable. The water bottle appears to be leak proof...a first that I have seen! A great way to get the kids involved in packing lunch and also a great way to pack a healthy lunch. No more baggies!

I absolutely LOVE my Laptop Lunchboxes. I have three of the 2.0 systems, one for me and one for each of my two daughters ages 11 and 8. The 2.0 system comes with the five inner containers and one outer container. Three of the inner containers are lidded, the small dressing one and one of each of the other two sizes has lids. However, I rarely use the lid on more than one container. My girls love their lunchboxes. They help pick out their lunches and like the way everything stays neat and never gets smushed. We do not fix elaborate lunches. Most of our lunches are fairly simple: sandwich, yogurt, goldfish and strawberries. We also have the water bottle and it never leaks. We did have to buy replacement tops when my then 7yr old chewed up a top. After a discussion with her and showing her the damage it caused, she never chewed on it again. We also like the stainless steel fork and spoon that comes with the 2.0 system. No more throw away forks and spoons and surprisingly, the kiddos have really kept up with all the pieces of their system. I like the fact that the inner containers are diswasher safe and that there are other sizes of inner containers (bento buddies)available for purchase. We purchased two sets of bento buddies and use them a lot for salads and such. The fact that this system also helps with portion control is a plus! It also helps me with food groups. I'm always trying to fill each container and trying to remember fruits and vegetables. I am a picky eater in the fact that I do not like for my foods to touch. I often take leftovers; chicken, green beans, rice and yogurt or soup, salad, sandwich and yogurt to work and this box works perfectly for my needs. This lunchbox is NOT for everyone. It is pricey, but for me it was well worth every penny I paid for it. If you are interested in one, you should first think about your needs and wishes BEFORE purchasing.

We needed new lunch boxes this year, and after a great deal of research, choose the Laptop Lunch Systems. They are so fun to pack the kids lunches in, and the kids love them too. Their friends always want to see what they have and how it was packed. Also the nice thing about this bento box system is that if you just want to pack a sandwich and other items that don't fit into the bento containers you can use the shell itself as a lunch box. My son is 10 and he really does like the different colors of his lunch box. We were a little nervous about the primary colors as a lunch box for a 10 year old, but it is appropriate for children of any age.
