5.0 out of 5 stars Very thin plastic- But as I later found doesn't compare to how well this laptop cooler really works!
The laptop cooler itself is perfectly fine but it is so thin that I have to tiptoe around any handling issues. I won't carry it anywhere unless I have the box it came in to put it in. I could easily break the plastic with one hand and I am a very skinny and not very strong.

I don't recommend this item. The product image makes it look like it's made
of a sturdy looking semi-thick looking piece of plastic. In reality, it is a very, very, very thin
fully transparent piece of plastic. When you take it out of the box, the plastic is so thin, it's floppy.

Follow up to my initial review. This laptop cooler, with it's thin plastic frame aside, is one of the best I have ever used so far with my 17 inch macbook pro. Before my laptop would constantly crash. Programs wouldn't work and I would have to limit my usage to suit the heat being emitted from the laptop. Now I can do whatever I want. I guess it wouldn't hurt to buy a just in case backup of the exact same one seeing as how the price is cheap and it actually does the job in comparison to my previous failing $40 laptop cooler.

This laptop cooler is about the best you can expect for eight dollars with shipping. It's light and kind of flimsy, but it keeps my laptop cool and provides elevation. I've only had it for a few days, but I imagine that it breaks easily because the wires are exposed.

The plastic is about as thick as that side of a bottled water. When you set it down, it sits on four
little legs, but it dips down in the middle. The fans don't seem to want to work, I had to flick
mine to get two of them running, and the air output is minimal. The coolest thing about this
pad is that it glows a neat looking blue color.

This is a great little cooler fan for the price but it does need to be on a desk or flat surface.

5.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy, yet powerful, February 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Laptop Notebook Cooler Pad w/ 3 Fans (Electronics)
I received my product approximately 5 days ago, and at this point have been exceptionally pleased by it's ability to keep my laptop cool without all the bulk of its cousins in the same market. It is very flimsy, and gives the appearance of being easy to break- believe you me, I'm not going to test this factor - but it is very powerful in it's line of work. My laptop previously would reach heats of 106°C, causing it to crash and even in one particularly bad incident to burn my hand. With this device, I have yet to see it peak over 87°C.
As I previously stated, I have been pleased beyond what I expected for the price, and compared to the $60 Belkin Fan I had bought before, I'm getting much more than what I payed for with this package. The Belkin was failing within two weeks, this one seems to be in it for the long run.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad for the Price, October 15, 2010

It is very quiet, and the blue glow seems to amuse many people.

However, it did arrive with one fan broken off its support pegs. I did not report this, and just dabbed on some super glue. It's been working fine.

It is quite flimsy to just place into a carry bag, and I use the box it came in to transport it in my case...but hey, look at the price. Really cannot complain much at all.

Other reviews state that this product is constructed out of plastic so thin, it's comparable to a water bottle. This is not true. The plastic is thin, yes, but it is sturdy. It does not flop about. The fans, as long as there is nothing in their way (such as the cord, which is easily moved and held in place around the edge of the "feet" of the cooling pad), are quiet but appear to be efficient. The blue light is also an interesting effect. For the price, this is a very decent product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Product overall, August 22, 2011
This review is from: Laptop Notebook Cooler Pad w/ 3 Fans (Electronics)
SHIPPING:
Item ordered on August 14, 2011 was not sent until August 16, 2011. Received on the 22nd of August. Box was damaged but the product was not damaged.

QUALITY:
Item looks really cheap, but works very well. Used on my notebook as soon as it was heating up and cooled down within a few minutes.
However, I did not buy this for my notebook. I bought it for my PS3 120GB Slim because my BluRay drive was overheating and it would not read my BluRay discs or DVDs when it was hot. So far it works like a dream.

Not a 5 of 5 because it did take a while for it to be sent and the box looked as though someone had sat on it for a long while. Over all, good quality for low price.

It does what its suppose to.. which is keep your laptop from overheating, or slowing down because of heat. but its deffinately only for when your working on a desk, im always laying down in bed with my laptop, and this is NOT the product for that. but for the price, its good. i deffinatelyy recomend it. The blue light it gives off is actually pretty neat too. kinda thin.. but it gets the job done, like i said. isnt very loud (which suprisingly, many expensive fans can be kinda loud..) i like it. you wont regret it, unless you only work like in bed or with a pillow under your laptop or something? but if you keep it on a desk, its deffinatelyy great. it even angles your laptop a little slanted so its not an inconvenience(:

This is a small laptop cooler. It is designed to sit on a table not your lap. it must be used on a hard surface since the blades on the bottom are exposed. It is made of a thin plastic and is not meant to be roughed around either. I paid 6 dollars for it all together including shipping. It does what it says it will do, cool your laptop, and the blue light it gives off is cool when the lights are out. I would recommend this to someone if they just need one for kitchen table bed side stand ect.
