This is one item that is indespensable! The design allows me to view my laptop at a slant, while preventing my wrists from hurting. It provides added ventilation so the laptop doesn't overheat. It is also very portable- snaps closed so it can be carried in my computer bag. Also, it swivels so I can easily turn my computer away from the glare of sun or lighting. It does work adequately with my 18" large laptop, althogh not as well as with my smaller 15.6" laptop.
I have seen costlier laptop holders but they seem to be heavier and not nearly as portable. This has definitely served my needs well.

This does not hold a 17" laptop as stated in the previous review. Mine falls off the back of it unless I have it in a very high position. It is also NOT great for travel or in-flights or ANYWHERE you would need to put it on your lap. The swivel base at the bottom makes it impossible to put it on your lap. For the price, it is a cheap piece of plastic! I am going to try to send it back and get the rolodex one I already have at work!

The concept is good, but the product is poor quality. The computer pops up in front. It needs rubber grips to hold it where it hugs the front of the computer. Also, it does not stay in place where the grooves adjust the levels. I had to tape it down. Good thing I am not traveling or need to fold it up.
