From the Manufacturer

Crystal Dynamics is proud to announce Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. This all-new adventure takes place in the Temple of Osiris, hidden deep in the deserts of Egypt. Lara Croft arrives at the temple, hoping to be the first inside, but rival treasure hunter Carter Bell has beaten her to the entrance. They each seek the Staff of Osiris, but they discover more than they bargained for.

Upon entering the tomb, Carter removes the mythical Staff from its resting place and inadvertently triggers a trap cursing them both and unleashing the evil god Set. But the staff also awakens the gods Horus and Isis, the son and wife of Osiris. Now free from their ancient prison, they join forces with Lara and Carter in order to resurrect Osiris, the only god capable of removing the curse.

As Lara and her companions fight their way across the sands and through ancient tombs, they will face gods and monsters of myth and legend. With the fate of the world at stake, Lara must uncover the fragments of Osiris to stop Set from enslaving all mankind.

2.0 out of 5 stars The original (Guardian of Light) was a far superior game December 16, 2014

Lara Croft 2 tries really hard but it cannot hold its own against the original. The graphics for some reason even on maxed out are a big downgrade compared to the first game (makes you think why this game skipped the ps3 and xbox 360), the setting and locations are also not as good or exciting

4.0 out of 5 stars It's good to have Lara back March 26, 2015

I had originally thought that with the reboot of the Tomb Raider series it would have been the end of the older version of Lara Croft. This was a character that had been with gamers throughout various console generations and is still very recognizable. I still have not played the Tomb Raider reboot (I do plan on it soon) but It seems like the older Croft is not ready to lay down her pistols as the top down Action Puzzler Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light recently received a new adventure with the follow up title Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris.

Temple of Osiris was a bit weird to play but that wasn’t because of the game and more because of who was playing. Throw four people with different gaming skills and temperaments into a coop game that requires precision timing and teamwork and sparks can definitely fly. So myself, Breanna (My Player 2 who is now contributing), Richard (My Let’s Play Partner), and Breanna’s best friend set out to conquer the game! Let’s just say that sparks flew and insults were hurled.

Using a third-person isometric view, all four players share the screen without any split screening or divisions as we’ve seen in Lego. While some may have found this to be the most frustrating elements as in the end it was like a Dungeons & Dragons game were the Dungeon Master is essentially herding kittens to get even a moment's attention, I found myself loving the fact that all four players were utilizing the same screen space. The reason for this is that it promotes teamwork and communication. All four players have to be paying attention to the surroundings as well as their character’s ability set.

I was disappointed after playing it. It was no where any close to the quality of the guardian of light game.
Most disappointed was the laggy input and un-optimized graphics. With descent rig, playing it on lowest graphics was the only option.
Keyboard input was laggy so it made jumping and dodging the projectiles and the spikes a much worse.

It feels to me that pre-ordering a game is waste, you cannot trust any gaming company to deliver to the standards of the atleast old game.
But if you feel comfortable playing it with controller then you gonna have a blast,. but for me it was a nightmare.

To counter the other reviewer who doesn't investigate (at all) before making a purchase apparently, this is a different, spin-off like game for the franchise. The game is great and very much more of the same from the original - excellent platforming, isometric action shooter with clever fun puzzles.

Don't listen to me or the first reviewer, just look at a review aggregation: http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/lara-croft-and-the-temple-of-osiris
