Croft Manor: Overview: Welcome home, Lara! Set against the rolling hills of the quaint English countryside, Croft Manor has been in Lara’s family for hundreds of years. It seems like the only other resident, Winston the butler, has been with the family almost as long. He pops up from time to time but hasn’t really set the place up for habitation. A huge pile of crates from a recent adventure have yet to be unpacked, there’s a troublesome problem with the water (there isn’t any), and an exhibit chamber is still undergoing restoration! After some initial investigations, it appears that one of the rooms—the music room—is thoroughly sealed. To open it, you’ll need to locate some weapons, explore the garden maze, and locate two items you need to insert into a huntsman statue waiting in the middle of the maze. On the way there’s ample time to grab eight Elephant Artifacts and view the Relics you’ve collected on your adventure for Natla. There’s even time to change outfits, read snippets from your books, and perhaps listen to some music…if you can work out how to open that door! --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

More About the Author

Originally hailing from the English city of Manchester, David began his video game career in 1995, writing for numerous classic British gaming magazines from a rusting, condemned, dry-docked German fishing trawler floating on the River Thames. David helped launch GameFan Books and form Gamers' Republic, and was partly responsible for the wildly unsuccessful incite Video Gaming and Gamers.com. He wrote his first guide in 1996, but began authoring guides for Prima in 2000. He has written over 70 guides including: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess; Assassin's Creed; Half-Life: Orange Box; Mario Kart Wii; Halo 3: ODST; and Fallout 3. 3.0 out of 5 stars Great to have in a clutch, but..., October 18, 2007
This review is from: Lara Croft Tomb Raider Anniversary: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Paperback)
This guide is flawed. Don't get me wrong, it was great to have when I actually needed to use it, but it also hindered my progress at various points when I did need to consult it. I own the entire Tomb Raider series and all their respective guides and know that each guide has an error or two with gameplay strategy or layout. This one had quite a few mistakes throughout and I had to resort to going online numerous times to one of the fan-sites to figure out what to do. Hopefully Eidos and Crystal Dynamics will turn to BradyGames to do the next Tomb Raider game guide, as the Legend guide is the best and most accurate Tomb Raider guide ever printed with one eensy flaw that did not make any difference whatsoever.

The poster with this guide is nifty, though.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well written and helpful, December 20, 2008

I had to agree with the fact that this guide is not flawless. It has mistakes such a part telling you to jump to a "sloping platform" in Peru just to find out you die if you do. I like the fact that all the extras are integrated in the walkthrough. You don't have to go to a special section on the page as the guide for Underworld or have to flip to almost the begining to find it like in Assasin's Creed's guide. The guide even suggests how to avoid some stuff if you are into beating the time trials. I was very impressed with this guide. If you want more detail, then what fun would playing the game would be?

It is very helpful in playing the game. This is the second guide that I have purchased for the Lara Croft games. I recommend it highly to all game players.
