I was disappointed.
The CD does not contain the really up, fast beat instrumental that was played nearly non-stop during the movie. The last track on the CD is the closest to it, "Pandora's Box".
I bought the CD for the one song.....and it wasn't even on the CD.
Why they chose to not include it is beyond me. Why would you do a soundtrack CD on an "Action Movie", and leave out the "Action Music".

I was very disappointed with this new soundtrack. The original Tomb Raider soundtrack had a lot of great techno. Instead, this album is full of pop/rock. If you love top 40, then you'll love this album. If you want something more edgy, don't buy this CD...You'll be sorry.

I just thought that this soundtrack would have been a bit more electronica and techno instead of weak alternative. I feel like I am listening to a family radio station. While the whole album isn't bad, its just not up to par. Still a good listen for something different.

What a suprise!!! i usually hate soundtracks beacause there are never enough artists on a soundtrack that i like enough to buy. i bought this soundtrack because i have the soundtrack to the first movie and i liked it. i like the tomb raider series and thought what the hell. this soundtrack ended up being really good. the filter track the only way (is the wrong way) is actually quite good and i don't care for filter that much. most of the cd is a great mix of music. now some of the songs are types of music i normally don't go for but they work because they don't hold to their genere. instead most of these songs take thier genre they are classified with and break new ground. i love the song bad girl and heart go faster is also good. the only track that seemed weak to me was moby's. i guess i'm just getting tired of him. anyway this is a great soundtrack.

I loved all the songs on it, and I bought it withought remembering much of the music. Heart Go Faster is the best song, fast and energetic, it's from the scene where Lara is riding the black horse on her rifle shoot practice. This is a great buy, with music I know Im gonna love listening to all the time.
The songs are on fire, I feel like I'm in a movie sky diving, deep sea diving and doing cartwheels in the air.
:-P

I obtained this album in the hopes that it would be like its predecessor, which I enjoyed thouroughly. I was surprised to find more rock songs on this album, but I grew to like it just as much:
-"Heart Go Faster" by the Davey Brothers. A nice rock song with a solid melody and beat. A good start, somewhat reminiscent of U2's "Elevation."
-"The Only Way (Is the Wrong Way)" by Filter. A softer rock song that's even more reminiscent of a U2 song.
-"Bad Girl" by Alexandra Slate. Another rock song with a more blah-ish melody. Not bad, but not particuarly good either.
-"Satellite (Oakenfold Remix)" by POD. Part rap, part techno, with a good beat. It's cool.
-"The Last High" by the Dandy Warhols. Soft alternative rock song that's certainly worth listening to.
-"Time" by Saliva. My personal favorite of the album. This hard rock song has a great melody, great lyrics, and a great sound overall. Awesome!!!
-"Leave You Far Behind" by Lunatic Calm. A chaotic heavy-techno track. I think it's cool.
-"Jam for the Ladies (Jason Nevins Remix)" by Moby. A hefty trance track, with some rap involved. Another good Moby track!
-"Starting Over" by the Crystal Method. Softer techno track with some string instruments, guitar, and disjointed vocals.
-"You Can't Look Away" by Sloth. It's back to hard rock with this adequate song.
-"I Hate This" by Nadirah 'Nadz' Seid. A rap song with synthesized instruments. Lyrics may be offensive to some, with its talk of violence and rage. Otherwise, it's good.
-"Reason is Treason" by Kasabian. Rock song with solid beat and slightly overdriven vocals. Another good track.

The soundtrack to "Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle Of Life" is extremely brilliant. Sloth's "You Can't Look Away" is extremely powerful and brilliant. P.O.D.'s "Satellite" (Oakenfold Remix) is entertaining and smart. Alexandra Slate's "Bad Girl" is extremely great and perfect. Lunatic Calm's "Leave You Far Behind" is extremely well put on this soundtrack. Saliva's "Time" is brilliant and encouraging. Moby's "Jam For The Ladies" (Jason Nevins Remix) is intriguing and is worth listening to. Nadirah "Nadz" Seid's "I Hate This" is powerful and brilliantly great. Davey Brothers' "Heart Go Faster" is very excellent and energetic. Filter's "The Only Way (Is The Wrong Way" is expectional and brilliant. Kasabian's "Reason Is Treason" is terrific and smart. I have just started to listen to the soundtrack and I think it is excellent and the rest of the tracks are going to the same, too, I think. Get this soundtrack now! I mean, right now!
