I bought one for my mother, one for my stepmother, and accidentally "one clicked" myself one as well, for mothers day. The service was friendly, professional, and i cant believe how fast we all recieved them. I just harvested my first four mushrooms yesterday (only a week later)and used a recipie they sent me with the log. My family and I were amazed at how quickly mushrooms grow (you can practically watch it grow). You would enjoy this product.

I have been absolutely ecstatic since my mushrooms started growing, which was immediately! All I did was soak it in water and set it up and I've watched them grow for a week. The brochure that came with it said that the log might not fruit (produce mushrooms) just after shipping, but mine did and I have more than a dozen huge mushrooms to show for it!

I just sauted them and they were amazingly delicious, and I'm happy to know about all their salubrious properties as well. Everyone who comes over to my house sees my log and comments on what an interesting project it is. I wish I could take more credit for growing them but really the log does it effortlessly once it's been soaked in cold water for 24 hours.

Really, this is one of the best products I've ever gotten. I'm getting a second one so that I can have mushrooms growing each month (one log has to rest for two months after producing mushrooms). It's just awesome. I love it.

I have purchase two of these logs for gifts and have had wonderful service from the company both times! During the Christmas season the owners personally called me to be sure that the log would be opened before the holiday so that it wouldn't die. I highly recommend this product to anyone who enjoys growing. It makes a wondeful gift.

The seller guaranteed that this product would yield mushrooms. I did get 5 mushrooms, but then it would not fruit again regardless of the fact that I contacted the seller and followed directions to the "T". Seller refused to replace the log since I did get 5 mushrooms at the very beginning. At that price I decided to throw away the log and buy mushrooms from a local organic supplier.

It's an interesting concept, but requires more care & careful timing than the sales blurb makes clear, & is thus perhaps not a great gift (which is what I used it for). You can't buy much in advance of when you plan to use it, and the shipping label says to open immediately because the log needs light and air; unfortunately, I didn't notice this immediately and let the log sit for several days. The recipient was travelling over the holidays & couldn't start the process of growing, a multi-step process requiring a lot of attention, for a week. We'll see if the mushrooms still grow. Probably not much trouble than most plants and a good product for the right person, but the sales info could be more detailed about the time/trouble it requires.

I bought this as a oresent for my mother in law she loves it.

Followed directions, but never got any growth. A complete waste of time and money.
