It is a beautifully done book. The illustrations are painted realistically, that I felt upon first picking up this book, that you can see the tactile-ness of each animal. I wanted to reach out to each furry animal and feel the softness of the fur to see if it was as truly as soft as it is depicted in the paintings. I can not rave enough about the illustrations from this book, they are inspiring just to look at each one.
The written content of the book is an informative read. Each spread of each animal has a description written about each animal adding an unusual fact to each animal that is depicted. If the reader has more questions about the animal after reading the book, the back of the book has even more information about each animal for the reader to explore.
It is a remarkable book. I was motivated to pick it up for the painted illustrations but my captivation remain by the written content as well. This book is a non narrative book that gives brief informational peeks at some animals in a beautifully layout book. It is a book that will spark a child's interest in animals. They may also use this book as a springboard to find out more information about animals as well.
