Sweet Little Book, but not what I would call "Large Print", October 19, 2011
This review is from: KJV Large Print Compact Bible (Chestnut Bonded Leather w/Snap Flap) (Bonded Leather)
I bought the blue bonded-leather KJV Large Print Compact Edition Bible. It is a VERY nice Bible without the commentary found in most Bibles now. I have study Bibles (KJV, New English Standard, etc) with Commentary, and I have study aids that I have purchased over the years (concordance, topical Bible, Bible dictionary, Customs of the Bible, etc) but after all these years, I wanted JUST a compact KJV Bible to take with me.
This Bible is 6 inches long, 4 and 1/4 inches wide, and 1 inch thick. It would fit easily in a small purse or a coat pocket. The back cover folds around and snaps on the front cover so even if you shove it into a pocketbook with other items, the pages are protected from wrinkling and bending.
There are pretty, colorful maps in the back (the migration of Abraham, the land of Jesus's ministry, the missionary travels of Paul, etc), a small concordance, and a chart of Jesus's miracles.
The print, however, is smaller than the print in my other Bibles. I would not consider it "Large Print" in THAT regard---but I guess the print could have been teeny considering the compact size of the Bible. Perhaps when they listed the Bible as "large print" they meant in relation to what the print COULD have been considering the size of the book. At any rate, people who are looking for large print due to vision issues will NOT like this print. It doesn't QUITE require a magnifying glass, but it's small.
All in all, though,I think this is a good product for someone who likes to carry a Bible and who does not require the additional material found in the study Bibles of the day, as well as someone who is not looking for larger than normal print.

Great for intended use, September 27, 2011

Have reviewed this for a different color of the same product so will copy and paste: Our children go to a private, Christian school which has chosen to use the King James Version as their translation to work with. Our older son isn't as user friendly with his possessions as his younger brother. I don't expect older son's to last any longer than a different one would for page retention. But, if he can manage to keep the pages together w/in the snap cover, they may be more useful than becoming detached with nothing to hold them localized to the Bible from which they came. Thus, there is a slight possibility the purchase of a new Bible for him to use at school may be delayed further. In general, quality of binding seems to have suffered across the book industry. But this was multi-good purchase for price, size of Bible, style of cover, font type and font size for boys to use at school.

Bibles, October 21, 2010
This review is from: KJV Large Print Compact Bible (Chestnut Bonded Leather w/Snap Flap) (Bonded Leather)
I am very happy with the Bibles that I purchased. My only disappointment was the thickness of the leather binding and the small print. I know it is a compact Bible, but the ones that say large print compact Bible and the ones that say compact Bible only have the same size print. I know there are much smaller compacts that are impossible to read, so this was very nice. Also, I was pleased that the ink was consistent throughout the entire bible without some pages being lighter ink as has happened to me with several bibles from other publishers.
