I bought this for my 2 1/2 year old and 1 1/2 year old to play with at the park. With a light wind, I can launch it with my hand - no need to play out lots of line, run, or anything -- just hold it over my head and let go. I have flown it up to the limit of the provided string -- I think it's about 300', but it's most fun to fly it lower where the kids can see it better. At really low altitudes it can drop quickly when the wind changes, but you can pull on the string or run to keep it up. If I fly it up to about 80' or more where it's more stable, my 2 1/2 year old can hold it. If I pull it in to about 10', I can run around the park with it flying just overhead, buzzing the toddlers with the tail. It doesn't handle violent wind and gusts well, but it's not intended for that. It's so easy it might get boring for someone capable of handling multi-string stunt kites, but for any Charlie Brown, this is the right kite. There are other kites that fly easily, but these Easy Flyers are also supposed to have lighter line pull, making it less likely to pull or jerk the string out of a child's hand. Still, for under 5 year olds I do most of the flying. Therefore I'm going to try some helium balloons on the kite string instead. I'm also keen to try a KongMing lantern. Our area is popular for hot air ballooning and maybe when the kids are older we could build an RC balloon. A kite like this can get a lot of things started. Enjoy.

This is a great, easy to fly kite. And beautiful too. It's easy to put together and fold up - you insert the cross bar to put it together, then remove it to fold it up. The cross bar is the only piece that is removable (that can be lost). Great first kite. Comes with string (don't know how much) and a handle device that you can wind the string around.

Highly recommended.

This kite is very easy to fly. My kids love it and can keep it in the air for hours if they choose. Very durable and colorful. A good buy.

This kite is beautiful and VERY EASY to fly. My daughter can control it without help. It is the perfect kite for the inexperienced kite flyers (like us). Can't wait for summer vacation at the beach!

The kite is well made an very colorful, but it is very hard to fly.
I bought it because it had mainly good reviews. First you need a pretty stiff wind to fly it, and if you can manage to get it high it does not fly that well at all. We have others that fly much better.

Just purchased this kite and tried flying several times. It is easy to launch and achieve height. However, the kite will list to the left side and dive straight to earth. This occurs even if the kite is high (300 ft) and no change in wind speed. I can tell the wind is adequate because there is adequate resistance on the string as this buddy swan dives. The listing is always to the left. Once it enters its death roll, it cannot be pulled out. I have an intermediate level of experience flying kites, and can't prevent this thing from crashing. I look forward to examining this kite for imperfections in the seams or asymmetry; problem is it currently is 50 ft above the ground in a tree. We also have the Large Easy Flyer Dog kite - it works as advertised. Flies well.

So easy to fly! Just throw it up there and let some string out. Any kid can handle this. Build quality is nice as well.

The kite was as described and for beginners. It was easy to set up and no problem to use. Just went to the beach and the wind took it right up. The kids loved it and they all took turns using it. I would recommend it.

This is the most beautiful Single line Kite I could find on the internet for my Grandson. Its easy to fly and amazingly beautiful to look at for younger and beginers kite flyers.

My 3yr old daughter loves it and can even take over and fly it by herself,which is a plus!! I would highly recommend this kite to anyone. It is a very easy setup and durable kite...Love it as a parent!!
