Nice materials but shoddy workmanship!, April 29, 2010
This review is from: Large Leather Fanny Pack Waist Bag w/Cell Phone Holder & Credit Card Organizer (Apparel)
Pros: nice exterior appearance and materials, large size...can be worn around the waist or used as a shoulder bag Cons: no water bottle holder, terrible workmanship. I had only had it a few days when one of the straps came loose...I took to an upholstery shop and got it resewn. Then I realized one of the interior compartments wasn't completely sewn and now I have several seams coming apart with threads hanging and one of the straps is coming unwoven. It is ashame because I really love the appearance of this bag and it was exactly what I was looking for. My advice based on my experience is don't buy this. I don't know if mine is an isolated experience because other reviewers haven't mentioned these problems.

Addresses many issues with previous fanny packs, June 17, 2010
This review is from: Large Leather Fanny Pack Waist Bag w/Cell Phone Holder & Credit Card Organizer (Apparel)
This bag is large and made of soft leather. Quality so far is very good; one review complains of shoddy workmanship, which I do not doubt, but my bag is fine.
There are TWO cell-phone sized side pockets; one holds a regular phone, the other will hold an iPhone, Droid, Blackberry, etc. The smartphone pocket can double as a sunglasses holder, but the reverse is not true; the phone pocket won't hold a pair of glasses. It will fit a small camera, though, or a pack of cigarettes for smokers, or other small stuff.
There are several smaller compartments and pockets, with zippers, in layers. The outermost pocket is a straight flat zipper. of reasonable size but little depth. The next compartment unzips completely and flips down (as in the picture) and has three credit card or ID holders, a pen holder, a clip to hold keys, and a zippered mesh pocket about right for sunglasses. Behind that is a large pocket of the same size, but that does not unfold and flip down, and has no other subdivisions. Behind THAT is the main compartment, which has 6 slots for credit cards/IDs, a flat zippered pocket, and a cavernous main pouch, which will hold a whole heck of a lot of stuff; a rain poncho, a full sized camera, a video camera, a couple rolls of toilet paper... it's huge. At the very back and up against the body is another zippered pocket, large enough to hold a checkbook.
The problems this solves for me is loose credit cards, sunglasses, cameras, change, money, keys, pills, and other items carried around on vacation and while traveling. With things secured in different pockets, and with the pockets different shapes and sizes, it is easier to access the proper places, and the risk of losing or dropping important items is reduced.
It should be pointed out that this item appears to be the same as this other item, which is $5 cheaper... http://www.amazon.com/Phone-Large-Smooth-Leather-Fanny/dp/B0007R0BD2/ref=pd_sbs_a_1

Really large bag, November 6, 2009
This is a really nice bag. A little roomier than I thought it would be. I used it while on vacation. It is so big that instead of wearing it around my waist I slung it over my shoulder. I could almost fit everything in it from my everyday bag.
It's well made and with a nice lining.
