I bought this for my husband, who said he wanted a BIG magnifying glass. He is very happy with it. But I was worried when I first opened the box because it is smaller than I expected. The glass is 3.5 inches. I don't know how they can advertise it as 4 inches. Even if you include the black plastic rim, it's just under 3.75 inches.

The glass has a coke bottle green tint to it, its not clear like you see in the example picture. The frame and handle are plastic, not a hard plastic that would chip or crack, but a softer flexible plastic. The magnifying glass I received had a small chip on the outer rim of the glass. Made and assembled in China. Packaged in a blister pack. The glass is a nice size, just wish it was clear.

It's an okay magnifying glass. I bought it for when my reading glasses won't let me see small details.Pros: - it came quickly - adequate size (but, like someone else said, even the outer frame diameter is only about 3 3/4") Cons: - it doesn't magnify 3x (unless you tilt it to stretch out the image), it's closer to 2x - plenty of rough mold seams for the plastic frame and handle. Yes I've smoothed it out myself, but shouldn't have to. I should have gotten one with a small high magnifying inset lense for the really small stuff, but I'll keep this one.
