It worked- first yellow jacket within 24 hours, over half a dozen nasties within days. I have been battling wasps for 3 years now, let me save you some time...
-Unless you know where the nest is you can't beat the wasps
- Never put an insect trap in YOUR yard... You attract more! You want set a piece away from you. That said, you could bait it with savory in the spring and sweet in the fall.
-birds won't control wasps
-spiders may trap a wasp, but the spiders tried here, no luck
-wasps actually do send out a warning to other wasps when they are attacked

I had a glass trap like this before, it was a small one of another brand. I gave up on it when I saw a wasp fly in and then right out... And I thought I saw it again here but next thing I knew, it was there, and couldn't get out. Now he's joined by several friends. I have 4 hummingbird feeders the wasps and yellow jackets like too much... I think the hummingbirds actually are deterred by the wasps. I rotate the trap in place of one of the feeders, the hummingbirds are unharmed the yellow jackets are trapped... Maybe they got some kind of message from the dying bees inside (we are not talking honey bees), I don't think I got any of the scary big wasps yet, and so far they are following where I move the hummingbird feeders, but this is the most progress I have ever made. I am thrilled. I used a bit of white sugar and water. Hard to believe it kills them without poison.

These work so well and they are pretty too. Hint, if you are in racoon or skunk country and leave these sitting rather than hanging , prepare to lose the corks.... apparently they are fascinating and they take them away...far away

I've had it hung in a "waspy" area for three weeks. I've seen them buzz around it, I've seen them light on it. I've never seen one venture inside and certainly I've never seen one caught. My conclusion is that it is worthless. It's not even particularly well-made. The glass is full of imperfections and the bail by which you hang it is already starting to corrode.

The only slack that I'll give this device is my speculation that the different species of wasps have different tendencies to explore "up" inside a structure like this, and the possibility that the wasps around my patio are not of that species. Pure speculation.

So, in general, I cannot recommend this device. I'll repost if anything changes.

Added 8/27/15: After two and a half months, it has caught a grand total of three wasps. Two of them drowned, as the unit is designed to do. The other one just flew around inside the trap for two days until I finally killed it myself. It seems that other reviewers had good success with this trap; I did not. Of course, I haven't seen as many wasps recently...perhaps they went home to tell their friends about it and they all died laughing.

I had a wasp problem last year. I did some research and bought 3 to see if they really worked. They work great I ordered 2 more. I have been
using apple juice for bait.

Love this - I have about three set up in early spring - mostly around my deck/pool area. I believe it has to be set up early to get the wasps attention....wasps seem to be the only thing attracted to this. We have several hummingbird feeders set up and use the 'old' sugar syrup (after a heat spell the water gets cloudy) and put the sugar water in the wasp catcher when it needs emptying. They are fragile so you have to store them carefully.

Very cool looking and it attracted lots of wasp. The problem is they get out just as easy as they get in.

This large Wasp Trap works great, it looks great too. I was happy using it this summer around my Hummingbird feeders. I ordinarily would not try to trap wasps, but they can be a huge nuisance around the feeders. This wasp trap was a big help!

LOVE IT! this thing works amazing. I put a little soda in it and just hang it. At first I was thinking its not working but eventually it had a very good amount of wasps/ yellow Jackets in there.
