Beautifully delivered, April 7, 2000

I'm certainly no authority on The Lark Ascending, having only experienced a few other recordings. However, the beauty with which this recording is delivered deserves particular note. The tone is delicate and flowing, and the tempo is perfectly matched to impart the image of a lark soaring. Few pieces of music captivate me as much as this, and as many times as I've listened to this recording, I'm still taken back by the feeling and great emotion that David Nolan pours into the piece. My hat is off to EMI for keeping this treasure around.
