Made in Egypt. Longer scale and different shaped body than the standard Turkish ouds. Deep tone with nice bright attack. Solid face. Sound hole inlay is wood. Comes with five courses in the traditional Arabic pattern but is set up for six courses. Wooden tuning pegs. Total length is 28-1/2 inches with a scale length of 24 inches. Nice grade instrument for the price. Perfect for the student or hobbyist. Comes with chipboard case. (syn: ud, barbat, medieval lute, renaissance lute)
