3.0 out of 5 stars Beware, August 8, 2007
This review is from: Dizi
While I love the di zi, it is unwise to purchase this flute without also purchasing di mo, which is the bamboo reed paper needed to cover the membrane hole. If this hole isn't covered the flute does not play with it's unique vibrating tone. The di mo can be applied with chinese herbal glue, or simply with garlic juice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful for Beginners, December 15, 2008
This review is from: Dizi
This di zi is wonderful for beginners, and is set at a very reasonable price. I know there's another reviewer that rated it three stars...I assume he didn't actually purchase the di zi, because he assumed it didn't come with the di mo.

This di zi *does* come with some di mo. Don't let that dissuade you from purchasing this item.

However, if you're looking for a very high quality di zi that you might play professionally, I would look elsewhere. This is more of a beginner's quality instrument.
