If you like Larry, you'll like this movie.,
I moderately like Larry's comedy, and as a result I like this movie, This movie is definitely Larry doing his comedy in a movie rather than in stand-up. There were quite a few laughs throughtout the movie, more so than recet movies, but it wasn't a constant laugh riot. If you hate Larry, you'll hate this movie, and if you love Larry, you'll love this movie.
Note that this is most definitely not a politically correct movie. There are plenty of fart and handicapped jokes, with a few gay ones tossed in as well. If you are offended by those jokes, you shouldn't bother to see this. Otherwise, you should like the movie just fine, but only the true blue Larry fans will absolutely love this movie. Thus, 4 stars.

Politically incorrect and offensive,
This review is from: Larry the Cable Guy - Health Inspector (DVD)
And that is why you should rent this movie!!!!! I have no use for political correctness and all the whiny people in this country who support it and get all 'offended'.
Larry is one who does not care about political correctness. He can laugh at himself and anybody else. That is why I have always enjoyed him, Foxworthy and Engvall. This movie does not hold back. Everybody and every group is fair game. This is a movie for those of us who don't care about political correctness or about people getting offended. This movie is funny and had me laughing the way through. Definitely not one for the kids though.

Bring TP,
This review is from: Larry the Cable Guy - Health Inspector (DVD)
Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector is a very funny movie if you like the comedy of Larry the Cable Guy himself. The role model of rednecks will have you chuckling from the opening scene throughout most of the movie. Very dignified viewers are sure to be turned off by the generic plot (replace a rebel cop with a rebel health inspector) and the abundance of flatulence and toilet humor. In the end, its funniness outweighs its weaknesses. Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector doesn't disappoint.

I rented the movie and now I want to buy it because I laughed through the whole thing. It is full of bathroom and redneck humor so if you are PC and a little uptight you might not like it. I found it even more amusing because I know people that are a little bit like the character Larry. I don't care for a lot of comedians these days because their humor is awkward or lame but Larry is easy going and his humor just rolls off and makes me laugh. It's been a long time since a movie has made me laugh this much so I'm looking forward to more movies by Larry. I might even start going to movies at the theater again. If you like to laugh, aren't to uptight in your humor and aren't looking for an in-depth plot....kick back and enjoy Larry.

I've only seen Larry the Cable guy in a few stand up comedy spots, and since I was pleased with his style, I thought I'd give this movie a go. I'm glad I did.
Even though the plot was a bit weak overall, and I wasn't happy about the ending, good redneck jokes can be located all over the place. One of my favorite jokes was "she's so ugly she can go trick-or-treating over the phone". Larry the Cable guy had a partner with him throughout the movie, and even though it was a woman, Larry kept treating her like a man by calling her "son" and "guy", which was hysterical. Larry's big redneck truck makes an appearance, and I love that truck! Despite what people might say, the movie was not covered in diarrhea and fart jokes, however, they do appear more often here than in other fart-comedies (for lack of better words). A couple of the main characters, such as Larry's girlfriend and one of his work "friends" have been featured is some quality comedies on the Fox station (Grounded for Life and Arrested Development, respectively). These characters could have been funnier, but it's not a problem, because the movie was supposed to be about Larry the Cable guy in a comedy role. Of course, Larry the Cable guy is at his very best doing stand up comedy, but for a silly redneck comedy, this is a golden treat. I enjoyed it, and laughed throughout.

I'm a Larry fan, I think he's hilarious and I love almost anything he's ever done. His new movie though was a head scratcher, it's not a five star classic but it definetely gets enough of a recamendation.
The story is enough to fill the slim running time of the movie. Larry is a slob, plain and simple. His giant truck is a redneck eyesore, his personal habits and mannerisims are disgusting, he drives his boss nuts and his new partner he keeps thinking is a guy. Larry is also a health inspector and may be the best one in the city but it's for all the aforementioned traits I listed above plus a destructive streak while on the job that keeps him on the 2 star lower rent beat instead of the gourmet establishments. When a string of food poisonings hit the area Larry is asked by the mayor to investigate, especially with an Iron Chef style cookoff coming up, none of the major establishments are above suspiction of tamering with the competition. Along the way we see moonpies, a mouthy mom to Larry's sweetie, a horrifying unibrow girl, fart jokes (yes but hey for foodpoisoning you should expect it) and yes Donnie. The creators must have realized that Larry is no actor and while he doens't do a bad job (he's basically playing himself) he has an excellent supporting cast to help him out especially Tom Wilson, Joe Pantoliano among others to surround Larry and help cover up any jitters. THe movie runs a little short but it's enough to get the story across and not overstay it's welcome. I may be a Larry fan but I wouldn't listen to him for two hours straight. The film thankfully follows the logic of Airplane! in that if you have enough jokes a minute even if many are bound to fail, many are bound to work too. Thankfully thats the case here and if you like Larry then you will love the movie. If you get a bug up your butt about the jokes in the movie, then don't take it seriously cause not even the movie takes itself that seriously. If I was some uppity snob of a movie critic ready to just write this off and reccamend some Ben Stiller POS, I would have said something along the lines of: "Larry the Cable Guy Health Inspector, is a movie for ugly people by ugly people in which the protaganist the dreary redneck buffoon played by Dan Whitney stumbles through town on a cookie cutter story and managing to upset or offend the sensibilities of anyone unfortuneate enough to meet him. The movie is for anyone who thinks farts are still funny cause thats all the humor you will find here. If you want funny, then see Clerks II. In these days of political correctness, Larry the Cable Guy should be arrested by the thought police since the things he actually says are a capital offence." Yeah, well guess what, if you read that review that probably exists somewhere and agreed with it, and you STILL saw Larry the Cable Guy's movie, you should have seen what was coming 10 minutes ago and not even bothered seeing it and deserved what ever you got for seeing it. Grow up and cut out the "I'm offended" baloney. ANYWAY like I was saying it's not a classic since it could've used a little more meat on the bones as far as a story goes. I thought Tom Wilson was great too even though all he does here is basically yell at Larry. Wish he could have done more. Maybe for the sequel. git r done!!

If you ever thought to yourself, I want to see a redneck fart in front of people, you might like this movie. If you thought to yourself, I'd like to see a redneck burp in front of people, you might like this movie. If you ever dreamed of seeing a redneck on the toliet or hearing farting noises from behind the door of a bathroom, you might like this movie. If hearing exaggerated hillbilly talk and slang is amusing to you, you might like this movie. If you like to see rednecks in flannel, denim and wearing a dusty baseball cap while holding a beer, you might like this movie. If you thought Hee Haw was too sophisicated for your tastes, you might like this movie. If you own 37 various types of merchandise that says "Git-her-done" you might like this movie.

Alternate view of the universe,

The title says it all. Larry just sees things from a bit different viewpoint, which is what makes him funny. That, and his willingness to excite our "don't do that" imperative that our mothers tried to teach us. Dad could fart and scratch his butt, but mom said that was nasty and that we weren't to do that. I think that may be the underlying cause for a bunch of the reviews this movie is receiving. Larry's doing his best to tell you that we all pee and fart and that maybe it's time to get over wishing things were different.
All that aside, I used to be a County Health Inspector. If you think this movie is made up, it's not. This stuff, and more, really happens. Larry's just acting it out. No matter how fancy the restaurant, there are things going on in the kitchen you just don't want to know about. I laughed until I hurt watching this movie. You may not.

White trash humor at it's best - not for the easily offended,

This movie is rude, crude, and lewd. It offends just about everyone. That's what makes it so funny.
In this politically correct society of ours, we need to let our hair down and have fun occasionally. It's ok to laugh at sophomoric jokes every once in a while. Humor is a great stress reliever. It is good for us emotionally and physically. So, lighten up and have some fun. If you are too embarrassed or ashamed to admit that this is really funny stuff, watch it alone with the curtains shut. That way the neighbors won't know that you can't help but laugh at this movie and possibly ruin your reputation. :)

Having seen Larry the Cable Guy in concert I knew this movie would be stupid, but also expected it to be funny. It was stupider than I was prepared for and not as funny as I hoped. There is a mild attempt at a plot and a couple of humorous running gags, one involving Larry getting a female partner but because of how she dresses and wears her hair, he thinks she's a man. Some of the scenes between Larry and his boss are also very funny. And again, knowing it's Larry the Cable Guy, I expected fart and other bodily functions humor, but this movie was unrelenting. It was still making a variation of the same joke right until the end of the movie. At some point you have to move on.
