Michael Mullin has written two books on Mickey Mouse. He lives in Los Angeles. John Skewes is the author and illustrator of the Larry Gets Lost series. A former artist for Disney, he lives in Seattle.

"Larry Gets Lost in Los Angeles" is a child's and dog's perspective tour of the magical city of Los Angeles. Pete and Larry are eager to discover all the wonders of this fabulous place. But things take an unexpected turn when Larry the dog gets lost around the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Both Larry and Pete wander through the sights of L. A. separately until they achieve a happy reunion through the kind help of a Venice Beach habitant who finds and feeds Larry and reads his collar and texts his owner. All of which goes to reinforce the message that for Pete and Larry, an adventure is never scary, and Los Angeles is a pretty nice place to visit after all. Whimsical, retro-style color cartoon like illustrations bring L. A. to movie picture focus. "Larry Gets Lost in Los Angeles" is an educational travel book for children age 3 and up.

As a father of two children with voracious reading appetites and an enthusiasm for adventure, I've been elated over the "Larry Gets Lost" series. Maybe it's because I live here, but I think "Larry Gets Lost in Los Angeles" is the best one so far. The story, while simple and self-explanatory, is nevertheless packed with escapades and information. But even more than that, John Skewes' drawings are a cornucopia of comedy, culture and creative energy. All of the pictures have fun nuggets and hidden treasures, from the inset to the back cover. Especially amusing is one in which Larry (the dog) confronts a mechanical creature on the Universal tour -- I won't spoil it for you. Run out and get this book! There are so many cities for Larry to get lost in... can't wait to see what's next.
