Speechless Awesome!!!,

This CD is great it captures the grit and raunch of 50's and 60's strip music. The sexual conotations in the music are over the top. Unlike the negative review down below the record hiss on some songs adds to the down and dirty bump and grind. I can imagine these being played at a burlesque show. Yes most of the music is from the 50's I know because I research what I like. Contrary to what one reviewer thinks the Jhon and Jackie song "Little Girl" is from 1958 it was originally written and recorded by the Rockabilly great, Gene Maltais. People have this impression that the 50's were a time of poodle skirts and Happy Days, how wrong they are. Some of the most dirtest music came from those "innocent" times albeit on smaller labels. Most of these bands I can tell wouldnt've even been touched by the majors in the 50's or early 60's. Grab em' up while you can the price is worth it. Although the other volumes you can find cheaper else where you can count on me getting all of them! Rare songs you won't find anywhere else!

PARTY!,

An absolutely sublime collection of obscure, swingin' instrumental gems from the 50s and 60s. Cheesy, goofy, campy....music that will go down great at any party you might throw. Some of the recordings are a bit scratchy, like they've been recorded directly from the original vinyl records, but this just adds to the delightfully trashy ambience. Not a bad track in the bunch, but the CD would be worth owning for The Hollywood Persuaders' rockin' "Drums-A-Go-Go" alone.Looking forward to getting all 6 volumes.

GO BABY GO GO (3.5 stars),

Some of the raunchiest, sleaziest, most glouriously outdated rock 'n' roll you'll ever hear. Back in the days when striptease left something to the imagination, strip clubs would often come with a band. They would blast out sleazy jazz or rock 'n' roll. The cover basically shows you what is inside this disc. Perfect music from roaming the streets reeking of hard liqour. This music just reeks of sleaze and bands who wouldn't be found playing outside strip clubs. It's remarkable that they even recorded, let alone these 45s survived up to this day. Like most music of it's type, its sexy but never really sexual. Just a girl in sexy lingerae, nothing more, nothing less. If you like David Rose's "The Stripper", and are wondering where to go from there, this is a good comp to pick up.

What this CD Is,
This review is from: Las Vegas Grind 1 (Audio CD)
...This album is a collection of different songs used in strip clubs during the 1960s. All of these songs are incredibly catchy and clever. My favorite one would have to be "Little Girl" by John and Jackie. This album goes over *really* well at parties. If your looking for something to lighten up your next swanky shindig, may I highly recommend this one?

I LOVE this stuff! Before my time, but it always makes me wanna be a Las Vegas [showgirl]... back in the classier times. My kids love it (13 & 15) as it is the quintessential 'party' music. Now if i only owned leopard print capris and spike heels. bring on the Martinis baby!

I have my doubts about all of the songs actually being from the 50's, as the marketing leads you to believe. Some of them, like John & Jackie's "Little Girl", seem a little too raunchy and in too good condition to be that old. It is my favorite song, however; my husband and I laughed out loud when we heard it!Many of the songs have that great retro feel fans of "The Cramps" go for. The contrast between the jazz or rockabilly sound and the sex in the lyrics and titles makes for an interesting listen. It's more bawdy and faster than "Take it Off - Strip Tease Classics", and as far as home-stripping, would probably be better for someone who has a little experience. It would also be great fun to play at a Swing dance! I did have one problem. Tracks 3 and 4 were reversed on my CD. But I knew which one was the Peter Gunn Twist and it didn't really ruin my enjoyment of the album. All of the other songs appear to be in order. I'll be buying the others in the series.

Terrible Recording Quality,

You can hear lots of scratches from the original records, sound is very tinny -- all treble and no bass. Playing this CD on my multi-kilo-buck sound system sounds worse than my 1950's car radio used to sound.
