The PLS180 generates two crisp, visible laser lines for plumb and level applications, with an indoor visable working range of 100 feet. The PLS180 has the longest laser lines in the industry. The lines project at over 180 degrees. This means that the level line projects wall to wall wrapping a room, and the plumb line projects behind the tool allowing the laser line to wrap a plumb line completely around a room or door opening makes the PLS180 a truly versatile tool capable of helping with everything from acoustic ceiling or door and window installations to wallpaper, drywall, and tile jobs. And industry-leading brightness makes sure that these lines are easy to see. For interior work to 10 feet high, consider pairing this tool with the PLS-20513 telescoping tripod (not included).
For effective outdoor use to 200 feet, the PLS180 offers a pulse setting that works with a PLS-SLD detector to deliver reliable readings over longer distances and in bright light conditions (detector not included). The PLS180 is accurate within 1/8-inch over 30 feet.
PLS Benchmark Dampening Ensures Consistent, Reliable Layout Results
Like all PLS point and line laser alignment tools, the PLS180 is fully self-leveling, and it takes full advantage of the patented PLS pendulum design and magnetic dampening to deliver real, usable results. Dampening is the settling down effect on the laser beam, and thanks to this advanced technology, all PLS point and line lasers settle down instantly when moved to a new layout point.
Additionally, this system compensates for job site vibrations caused by compressors, generators, and other heavy equipment, preventing the laser point from "jumping" around and ensuring that your laser delivers accurate, usable information. This helps your team get jobs done right the first time to save you time and money.
Durable Construction and Accessories for Career-Long Savings
All PLS tools are designed and manufactured to meet strict quality control guidelines, and the PLS180's workmanship is backed by a one-year manufacturer warranty for dependability you can rely on. Plus, if your laser tool ever does need to be serviced, PLS offers fast, 48-hour factory turnaround on repairs or replacements to help ensure that your PLS laser line tool continues to provide accurate performance and improved productivity for the full duration of your career.
This laser line tool measures 2 x 2-7/8 x 3-3/8 inches and weights just 1.7 pounds, so it practically fits in the palm of your hand. It also comes with both a pouch and a hard-shell carrying case to help protect it from the rough realities of construction work. For your convenience, the PLS180 is powered by three standard "AA" batteries (included), and it can run over 30 hours between battery changes.

New Level,

I purchased this tool to install a series of cabinets and provide an easily reproducible plumb line in a kitchen which has no right angle walls and also curved walls. This tool made life much easier on this oddly shaped room and measurements and setup were a snap. I attached this tool to a vertical (adjustable) pole in the middle of the room and away I went, lines set and done in 10 min rather than 2 hours. I came back multiple times aligning in other configurations and they snaped back to the same points each time plus or minus a sixteenth of an inch. I am very happy with this tool and do not regret the price paid.

This is a great little laser that has seen more use than I even thought it would. I bought it for a hotel sign hanging project where measuring up the wall or fumbling with a jig just wasn't practical for scale of the project. So I clamped a piece of angle steel to my cart, and attached the included magnetic bracket, set my height and it didn't budge for the whole project.
I just this week used it to layout for a kitchen install. Set my wall and base height lines. It was also very handy for a tile backsplash in a kitchen recently. I did consider a rotary type because I wasn't sure if this went greater than 180 degrees (a feature I needed for the sign job). It goes 3 degrees or so "backward". This is something that would have been nice to know but I took a chance and it paid off. I only give it 4 stars because 1.for the price I thought it might come with a drywall mount or a grid clamp for drop ceilings (see Dewalt). Not a deal-breaker (I'll figure something out). It does have the magnetic bracket. 2. The case included ended up collecting dust in my shop. A nice idea but for me a waste of space and unnecessary. Lose the case and... (see above note) Overall, I would choose this product again and, after much research, would recommend it over anything else out there.

new technology wins,

i've been holding out from buying a laser level hoping for something like this. i've used the PLS5 and PLS3 and like them but the annoying thing was always moving the little point of a laser to where you need it. I use laser levels mostly to level ceilings and floors in my remodeling job. now this chore has gone from a two to a one person job as i don't have to have anyone manning the level to move the one point around.
love it!!
