With the PLS360, there's none of the tricky knob adjustments or easy-to-damage moving parts that can make rotary laser setup a big time commitment. There's simply a single-button that provides access to a visible indoor working range of 100 feet. This means you can project bright lines that are easy on the eyes across a full circle with a 200-foot diameter. And, for effective outdoor use, the PLS360 also offers a pulse setting that works with the included SLD detector to deliver reliable readings over extended distances--up to 250 feet--and in bright light conditions. The PLS360 is accurate within 1/8-inch over 100 feet.

This laser has great range, it worked for me at 500 feet line of sight and the build quality of the standard and tripod are first rate. The laser light is good strength, viewable outdoors in hazy light. My first use was to set up starter strips for siding going around many corners and it worked well. However the instrucion leaflet is close to useless. They must assume that the device needs no instructions, but it's not clear how the self leveling light indicators work. The off level warning light blinks forever even when it is dead perfect level. The only way I found to get it to flash green (good to go) was to bump the unit.
