will NOT work for all Sigma pistols...,
By
This review is from: LaserLyte ADPSIGM140 Rail Adapter (Misc.)
Just a quick heads up that this will NOT work for 1st generation Sigmas (SW40F, etc.), or any generation without the grooves already on the side of the pistol (like the VE series). I was so excited when I saw this item and ordered it right away without really doing any investigating. While it was being shipped I took a closer look and was curious to find out how the heck it would mount to my SW40F. Sure enough it doesn't really work if you don't have a model with the grooves and I confirmed that with the folks at Laserlyte. Four stars because it's cheap and I imagine it would work fine for those of you with the right model pistol, just not mine.

There isn't a whole lot to say about this. It's an adapter that allows you to attach a few different accessories. Light, laser, light/laser combo... Once attached, it feels very snug. When I removed the adapter, I did not see any type of marks left by it.
Pros: price, quality, ease of use Cons: don't really have any...

An absolute must have for owners of the SW9VE or SW40VE.,

This review is from: LaserLyte ADPSIGM140 Rail Adapter (Misc.)
Inexpensive, idiot-proof installation, and remarkably sturdy for a non metal rail(it's made of polymer) this is a must have for a Sigma owner. It allows you to attach a tactical light or laser sight via the ubiquitous weaver/MIL-STD-1913 rail. I bought a cheap laser sight from Amazon, zeroed it at 20 ft, and went my merry way. When shooting, hunting, camping, etc; my Sigma 9mm resides in the cross-draw holster on my tactical vest. The holster is designed for a medium frame gun, and as anyone familiar with a Sigma knows, the barrel end of the gun is very large and rectangular; much boxier and wider than, say, a Glock or an XD 9mm. So every time I holstered the gun I had to squeeze it down into the holster until it stretched enough to accommodate the rail and laser.
I enjoy lots of training and competitions involving realistic tactical scenarios that require me to run a lot (causing the pistol to be jostled, bounced and squeezed every which-way), fire and reload repeatedly, climb trees and steep terrain, constantly draw and re-holster the Sigma, and to frequently dive to and crawl long distances in the prone position. Despite all this 'abuse' (to me it's just plain usage) the cheap mount and cheap (I'm talking $17) laser Sight held up like champs, the rail hadn't loosened or shown any signs of wear, and the red laser sight was rock solid on zero. Bottom line: scroll back up and click add to cart. =>
